Shrewsbury have recently announced their club accounts for the year and for our relegation season we lost £280,000, down from £385,000 the year before. Just shows how important cup runs can be, we went out early on in all 3 competitions in both seasons...
Read the post above where I say why on paper it is. I also said I don't expect an easy game haha! Don't understand what's so hard to comprehend. Also we are top of the form table (6 games), York are 3rd. What form table are you looking at?
Interestingly, Ryan Woods wouldn't be a lot of Shrewsbury's player of the year. He certainly wouldn't be mine. If NKP and Weso had stayed fit I'd argue he'd struggle to make the top 3. I think perhaps we don't value his role enough, it seems every team we play raves about him, whereas we see him...
I'm referring to the 32 points between the sides, the respective home and away records (16-4-1 --- 6-8-7). As impressive as all that is, on paper this should be a Shrewsbury win. However if football was played on paper, it would be rather boring. I was also referring to Winfield who probably the...
Disappointed with ours but that's what such a terrible relegation does to you. We've lost a good 300 fans since we last went up. Should be up to 5300ish with 2 big crowds to come I imagine by the end of the season.
I'll link you Winfield's infamous tackle from last season against Peterborough iirc. He tried a new method of tackling using his head haha.
Summerfield is a class player at this level, just struggles with injuries. He spent long periods out with us otherwise he would have been offered a contract.
On paper this should be an easy 3 points but York have the freedom of knowing they're safe and that can be dangerous. Hopefully this will create an open game and everyone who's come to our ground and played that way have gone back defeated (bar Northampton).
Absolutely gutted that that donkey...
I think he means in terms of us and Wycombe. Wycombe clearly do not have money to spend whereas we've got money in the bank and potentially some big fees to come with Goldson and Woods.
Have to say after following the Burton Twitter account for a few games this season, the person behind it is a bit of a tool. The latest tonight was when Carlisle had 9 men on the pitch whilst 1 was getting a head injury bandaged and iirc another was off with a head injury and he complained they...
Haha what a crazy first half. Expected a burton win so anything else is a bonus. G'wan Carlisle, always had a soft spot for you since James Collins broke your hearts earlier in the season with the last minute winner.
Nice one Wycombe. Well done bury, stunning goal to win it. Very annoyed to have a perfectly fine goal chalked off. Who knows what would have happened at 1-1 with 10 to go. Think we were good for a point.
£285 early bird standard adult ticket for us. Current price is £20 for away fans/standard tickets, don't think that'll go down but hopefully it'll stay the same for League 1 and we can look to build our crowds up again as we're 2/300 down still.
Can't see a thread for this one, apologies if I'm totally blind.
Should be a cracker. Hopefully about 1500/2000 town fans attending, shame it's a Tuesday night as a lot are missing out due to travel etc. Bury will be desperate to get revenge on us after a 5-0 thrashing earlier in the season...
One thing I'd add about our budget. It's hardly leaps and bounds above everyone else's. We've got crowds of 5,250 and ran at a £280,000 loss last season when we went down, we then sold Taylor for 400k and the money hasn't been added into the equation. We don't run the club with debt and we've...
Fair comments I guess. Most town fans weren't exactly sure what we were getting and perhaps some were underwhelmed (we seem to have a fascination with Mark Robins). From day one he's impressed and the way he's built a team/squad and a ethos out of what was nothing short of an embarrassing squad...
One I forgot for us actually. Andy Robinson. Nothing against the guy but he made 2 sub appearances that amounted to about 15 minutes game time in total and has since retired after some personal problems and injuries.
