Mirfin never was that good in the air for me. Much better on the deck, particularly with his quality reading of the game. He has been a very solid CB for us, but Mark Robins tried to get rid of him against most fans wishes. Graham Alexander reinstated him and he done well for us, but has not...
Nothing silly about it at all. I was calling for his head after the Millwall defeat. Unacceptable team selection. He should have been replaced this summer. He was negative at Fleetwood and he is too negative for me. Madden up top on his own and playing defensively in the first game and at...
BOAO, Hakeeb Adelakun is the lad you are talking about. A real talent, particularly for this level. Lack of consistency lets him down. Note the difference in his performance from first to second half.
Your tactics second half contributed to us losing our way. Possession football will do...
I thought Hakeeb had a good first half, but faded badly and poor marking? from him for their equaliser. We didn't get hold of the ball for long enough and Wimbledon did. That should not be happening at home.
Well, that was pretty much as I thought it would be. Wimbledon turned out to be better than us, particularly second half. They had the better chances and really should have done better, particularly our ex players, Barcham and Taylor.
Shocking set up by our negative manager, Alexander. One...
I can see a bog standard 2-1 home win, a hard fought 0-1 away win or a draw. I think it'll be very close, no more than one goal in it either way, if there is to be a winner. I'll go with a 1-1 draw. We are struggling a bit at both ends. I'm hoping for us to get a clean sheet, but I don't...
The team(s) that I most want us to beat are Wigan and Blackburn. If we can do that, then we'll be right up there challenging for promotion, because finishing above either of these clubs could well mean promotion.
In my history of watching Scunny, the Codheads are our rivals, by a stretch. Lincoln and Donny come second and third. Hull have been fabricated as a rival (Humber Derby), but it's all media bollocks, led by big bollocks Radio Humberside.
I've always thought of Rotherham to be Donny's main...
We have a penchant for getting opposition managers sacked. When one is under pressure, in a bad run of results and often been given a "vote of confidence", it is odds on that he'll be sacked if there is a loss to Scunny. The defeat opens the gate for the opposition's Chairman to get rid of his...
We played 4-3-3 early on last season and were unplayable at times. Hopper played a big part playing target man up top. He is surprisingly quick and I like him in that formation and would keep him for the times we go to a 4-3-3. He is a poor finisher, but as Don says he helps out with much of...
Good point. If Newcastle is looking to get rid of and not develop Toney, I can see Wigan being a more attractive proposition than us. If you do get Toney, he may surprise your skeptics. He's a very clever player with excellent awareness. He know where the goal is too.
I'm surprised Toney is being loaned out to a L1 club. I would have thought Newcastle would be loaning him to the Championship. Not sure giving him another season in L1 is going to do anything for him. He appeared capable of playing at a higher level when he was with us last season.
The whole idea of this thread, as in the opening post was not to include history. In MillerWhale's table, Scunny is listed as bigger than MK Dons. Certainly I consider MK Dons to be a bigger club than Scunny, based on factors such as quote attendances, stadium, facilities, infrastructure...
Better get used to it, Rob. He was well liked by many Scunny fans on the occasions he was fit and played in CM. I was not one of them. Good luck with him, if you can get him playing.
