His best days must be past past him now though. That the problem I have with 30+ yo outfield players. Most go downhill quickly. Maybe he could have still done it in L1, but good luck to him. Sounds a good move to Setubal.

Gus Honeybun vs Scunny Bunny (Argyle vs Scunthorpe)

We are "The Iron" and never have been "The Irons". We're likely to play in our home kit of claret and blue, which may confuse you even more. Our away style this season is fairly predictable - rubbish. Poor against Rochdale and shockingly bad against Middlesborough. If we play the same...

Your standout players/ones to watch for the coming season?

I would say our stand-out player this season will be our goalie. You will see a lot of him picking the ball out of the net, desperately kicking clear, making outstanding saves to keep us in the game and screaming and shouting at his beleaguered defence.

    Carabao cup aka league cup

Really poor show from Scunthorpe at Middlesboro on Tuesday night. Never in the game after the first 15 mins had passed, as we were played off the park. Felt like a pre-season friendly rather than a cup match. Middlesboro were far superior to us, but we played gutless and with a lack of will...

    Stickied League 1 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

According to our local rag we are interested in Jose Semedo. Another 30+ yo outfield player doesn't really excite me. Any comments from Sheffield Wed or Charlton fans?

Scunthorpe vs Top of the table Oxelona

Iron-Bru deters all fans (including most Scunny ones) from contributing and is a bore, same old same old. There is no age restriction, but if you enjoy arguing over mundane things related to football, you may enjoy it. The non football section can be interesting I guess, particularly if you...

    North vs South

Since K-Win wants compare the North and South for League One clubs, then Scunny has a strong claim to be top of the league. Current Champions of Third Division North and reigning for 59 consecutive years is tough to beat anywhere. Certainly, I would concede to Brighton that they have a...

Horrible place, nice stadium, poor draw.

    Carabao cup aka league cup

How is Canavan doing with you guys? Came through our youths, as you know, flirted with Eire U21, but never quite grasped the future. Nice left foot, powerful, decent header too. BUT, there was something just missing. Lower league CB. We need someone with championship experience or young...

Thanks for the response, WilsdenBantam. As someone who has worked on oil rigs around the world, the offshore self-turn is extremely slow and conducted by dynamic positioning systems with thrusters at the base. Satellites guide the positioning of the procedure. Other rig turns are conducted...

    Carabao cup aka league cup

I have to question a 3-year contract for a 30 yo outfield player. I don't know him at all, like you and other fans do, but he looks a bit cumbersome, a bit slow and not particularly comfortable on the ball. Am I all wrong? He can head it and hoof it long, but we are hoping to be challenging...

    Carabao cup aka league cup

No surprise for me at the back. Back 3 much of a muchness. Hoping Burgess comes good, he could well do. Wallace is struggling to settle into this formation. McArdle has a lot to prove for me. Fortunately, we look to have signed a good keeper. Clarke and Townsend don't defend well enough...

iFollow - EFL Streaming for Abroad

A "friend" tells me that you can find cup matches on P2P sites. At least all televised matches in the UK are covered and some others for international audiences. Hunt around. This same "friend", allegedly, had rigged up his computer to a large screen in a Kaohsiung hotel lobby due to Wifi...

Mighty Iron. Super Iron. Another resounding home draw. This time 3-3 versus Notts who started their season poorly. Sneaked through on penalties in the end. Exciting season ahead for us, trying to stay up!

Just to share a few things . . . . 1 My 'Player' annual subscription has been honoured for 'iFollow', until it expires in 3 month's time. 2 Watched this season's opener against Wimbledon on 'iFollow'. 3 'iFollow' quality not the best (maybe my end), but watchable, even when output to a 42" TV...

    Incompetent Managers and their decisions

Alexander's set up against Millwall in last season play-off SF 2nd leg AND his set-up versus Wimbledon in this season's opener.

    Fleetwood v Rotherham

Fleetwood were a play-off side last season. Unless their manager badly screws it up (as Scunny's boss seems intent on doing) then I expect them to be challenging. Not surprised by this result. Going there is not an easy game.
