That really. Was very good when he first came on loan three seasons ago but not always first choice last season. Good squad player, can do a decent job either in central defence or midfield but not guaranteed to start in either position.
Fair point, not sure he’ll be playing regularly to be honest, especially now we’ve signed right back Tyler Forbes. He’s fitness coach now, but will be a useful squad member with his, shall we say 100% commitment!
Don’t think we’ve done too badly. Lost Frank Nouble and Ben Tozer, but David Pipe, Dan Butler and Scot Bennett all signed new contracts. Signed Jamille Matt from Blackpool, Fraser Franks from Stevenage, Keanu Marsh-Brown and Charlie Cooper from Forest Green, 29-times-capped Wales international...
Third time in recent seasons we’ve met on the opening day too! Not the most glamorous fixture for either of us but at least we’ll take a decent following as it’s first game. Will have a pint for you in the Railway!
I can't think of any situation where a young inexperienced manager has come in and done well at a struggling club.
Michael Flynn came in when we were 11 points adrift in March 2017.
Won’t be many. Three home games in a week, including Spurs, it’ll be a bit of an after thought. Saying that, should we beat Crawley tonight and Morecambe on Tuesday (not counting any chickens yet!), it could be a really important game!
As opposed to promotion chasing Mansfield, who brought a huge following of 160 to RP for a Saturday afternoon fixture in October! Precisely two more than we took to Mansfield in February when we had Westley as manager, were about 103 points adrift at the bottom and hadn't won for about two years!
Are you thinking of Conference game, Boxing Day 1988? We had loads there and were on the away terrace on the side which is now a new stand. Sure we've never played them in FA Cup. Early/mid 90s games were in Glos Sen Cup or Southern League Cup.
Hard to say for sure it cost us a point, but the facts are it was 0-0 and an even game so obviously it had a huge impact. It was clearly a ridiculous decision by the referee at the time and at least that has been recognised by the appeal. 11 v 11, we may or may not have got a point. 10 v 11 it...
