Season rating?
9/10 We were so impressive last season that I was also confident we’d do well this season but not this well.
Most of our wins have been deserved and we’ve consistly played well providing entertaining positive football.
Highlight so far?
Easily the historic deserved 4-2 away win...
As Blademan said.
It was a sell out today, apart from a dozen tickets in the family stand (mainly in the corner section) where all adults must be accompanied by a child.
So it should possibly touch 30,700 in the Sheffield Derby next month. Still means 2,000 seats not made available for sale...
A really comfortable/ easy win.
Sunderland started on the back foot just putting loads in defence seemingly playing for a 0-0 draw.
When we scored Sunderland offered no reaction and the game was affectively over even at 1-0.
The bit I found weird is that at 1-0 down Sunderland were still...
There’s some frustration amongst our fans.
We’re still playing well and creating plenty of chances but apart from Millwall we’ve been really unlucky and could have won our recent games and be up there with Wolves,
So on one hand everything is looking good and we should be back to winning ways...
It seemed harsh at the time, just looked a strong tackle, wins the ball just before the follow through.
However in recent years the rules have been made quite clear.
No 2 footed lunges allowed because they are potential leg breakers.
The slow motion clearly shows it’s was a 2 footed lunge, so...
Just got back, freezing tonight.
Thought we were unlucky in an open entertaining game.
Up to the sending off was starting to build a head of steam and looked the more likely to win.
The shot from Duffy that hit the post just after Leon scored was pure class.
Even when down to 10 men were still...
Just about to leave for the match.
For the first time this season I’m really unsure what the score will be.
We could win but we could easily lose.
Since losing Paul Coutts (broken leg and out for the season) we’ve not won a game. Coutts wasn’t exactly fantastic but he was like glue that struck...
Warnock was interviewed on Talksport radio last week and the presenter made the same comment about it would be nice to see Warnock have a final crack at the PL next season.
Warnock replied that he doesn’t like the PL and it’s not his style with multi million pound players and big egos. He said...
Regards tonight’s match.
We looked well in control 1st half and it seemed it was only a matter of time before we scored
Then out of the blue Birmingham score a beauty, a long range shot then Birmingham sit back packing their defence and hoping to hit us on the occasional break.
We struggled...
If Wednesday played fast positive attacking football creating loads of chances but lost Owlstalk would say something like “someone’s going to get a pasting sooner or later”.
It’s the poor entertainment, slow sideways passing and lack of shots on target every match that’s causing the most...
Birmingham have been terrible at scoring goals this season
And we are well overdue a clean sheet.
So I’m pretty confident Birmingham won’t score......ok maybe one for Adams.
Ex player Adams will probably be booed much of the match, it often means they score.
And I’m also pretty confident we’ll...
Never liked Gary Monk. Probably not his fault but he always has a slight smirk and a smug look.
He also bigs up his own team and seems to give little credit to the opposition.
Thought he was well suited to Leeds and strengthened my dislike of them.
However I’ve got to admit I like how...
Match almost finished and Wednesday still haven’t had a single shot on target
That is shocking for a home team, entertainment at Hillsboro must be zero.
I’m hoping Wednesday hold on and do us a favour stopping BC from grabbing all 3 points.
Was that before the war or after the war?
Anyway let’s get to the present day eh.....who has the best team, the best players and the best manager in Sheffield?........... Wednesday had their chance, gambled big time and blew it.
I’m a SU season ticket holder from Southey too, live not far from the roundabout at the top of Herries Road, been going regularly to BL since 1975. Went to loads of SU away games in the 80’s and early 90’s but hardly been away since. Although did go to the MK Dons last season.
Wednesdayites...
Wednesday fans are often strangely confident.
They have this weird habit of judging their opponents based on stature and fan base, not form, league position or the actual players on the pitch. That’s why we call them “the deluded”.
Our midfield 3 of Coutts, Fleck and Duffy is the best midfield I’ve seen at SU since I’ve been going from the mid 70’’s. We’ve played those 3 players in almost every match for nearly 18 months.
The central 2 of Coutts and Fleck have an almost telepathic understanding of pass and move playing...
I’m listening to the live commentary on Radio Sheffield.
They said at half time that medics on the scene suspect it’s a broken leg
And you would imagine that medics have a good idea of an injury before any scans or X-rays.
The 2nd half Burton are finally coming into it, showing more energy and...
They’ve splintered up his leg, so maybe it’s a broken leg and knowing our luck out for the season. He’s been really influential too this season, really consistent, so a massive blow to our good form.
Regards the match another very impressive first half from SU, total dominance.
Burton have...
