Not so sure about that, but probably in the must win category for us. Marquis set to be suspended, so not sure what Ainsworth will go with as Oliver can barely last 30 minutes ATM. Lloyd up top by himself possibly
Great example for the captain. At least he wasn't on the pitch for our penalty.
Probably should have had a second pen too. Probably kiss this one goodbye now. Need 3 win from the next 3 to give us a chance hope I'm wrong at full time)
First of a run of 4 straight games in 2 weeks against relegation rivals away at Posh tomorrow. Should have a full squad for Ainsworth to pick from apart from Castledine.
Posh were probably the best team I'd seen this season when they trounced us 4-1 in August until Bolton the other week...
Terrible game of football with 2 poor teams yesterday at Shrewsbury, probably not helped by the fact I was feeling pretty rough! Stevenage on of the worst teams I've seen all season, but got a 1-0 win without a shot on target. Blackman won't have an easier game for us. We barely created anything...
The run of 3 home defeats has put a dent in our survival hopes. Had the Stevenage game been the first of the 3 I think we'd have beaten them. Half of our team were blowing out of their backsides early in the 2nd half after 5 gakes in 2 weeks and had little on the bench Worth changing it with...
Seems to be a popular signing. Said in his interview that he's been keeping an eye on results, but needed to make sure everything was sorted for his wife and kids. Shows that family is more important than football in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully he can hit the ground running.
There's...
First of Ainsworth's contacts of free agents in today. David Wheeler has joined until the end of the season. Looks like it was family issues that stopped the move happening earlier, but possibly some desperation with Castledine out for a period has meant reinforcements are required.
Happened...
Feels like we probably need to get a win against Stevenage on Saturday before the run of 4 games against relegation rivals. Looks as if Castledine is going to be out for an extended period, so our attacking threats from midfield remain restricted
Frustrating 1-0 home defeat against Huddersfield. Typical of our games lately, very scrappy. Can't fault the effort but didn't take the few chances we made, whereas they took theirs. Thought Huddersfield looked good in possession until the final third, and very quick on the counter. Feel the...
I think that's why Ainsworth is so bullish about our position. He keeps saying to stay in touch now and focus on the (in theory) more friendly run of games coming up after the end of the month. In reality probably more pressure on those games.
What is there to worry about for us if we'll got to 54 points!
Our podcast has a spreadsheet going, splitting the games between must win, free hits and 12 points needed from 9 games, with the aim of getting to 50 points. Been going a few weeks now and we're just ahead of that target. Tonight is...
Us football fans only really want to watch winning football. Can't accuse us of the tippy tappy stuff with under a succession of managers. Under Cotterill we won 6 in a row (January and February 23) and not a peep about the style of play. We then only won 1 of the last 10 that same season with...
Salop just need to stay in touch until the end of this month and the fixture list looks more kind on paper (barring Birmingham and Wycombe away). From March onwards, we've only got the top 2, Reading and Barnsley of the current top half left to play. We've also got all of the bottom 8 (except...
Could do without a midweek game this week. Players looked out on their feet 2nd half against Bolton. Small squad catching up.
Pierre and Lloyd (big miss today) could be back in contention and waiting on Perry. No news on Castledine, which has been out since the end of January and not heard...
Without wanting to get into an argument that's just an outright lie. The physio came on once in the first half for an "injury" but at the same time Perry was down injured and was subbed at half time (only a couple of minutes later). Amazing how the only player booked in the game for time wasting...
Apparently so. According to the CEO at the recent supporters meeting still in an exclusivity period with an interested party and due diligence being done, hence the delay of our accounts being published as the finance team has been dealing with this.
They're still hopeful it'll happen by the...
Accounts released for Shrewsbury today for the year to June 2024. Loss of £1.6m, which is half of the previous year. Income up and expenses down.
Wages (before taxes and pensions) reduced last year to £4.9m from £5.2m the previous year. Likely to be lower again this year. Shows how we struggle...
