Fantastic performance from Shrewsbury. Mansfield dominated the first 15 minutes. Can't comment on their goal as at the other end of the ground but the amount of time Evans had and the way everyone stopped must have been a hint of offside. Suggestion of that on our forums.
The "injury" to...
The money being spent now in League 1 is crazy and not sustainable in the slightest. Shrewsbury still not released our 2023-24 accounts (which the CEO said would be released by the end of December but not actually due until March), but we made our biggest ever loss in 22-23 of £3m and our...
Was described as a ball playing left sided defender. Started off last season ok but a bit lightweight. Got shunted to left wing back a few times and looked like a fish up a tree, giving an horrendous performance away at Oxford.
Hurst came in January 24 and first thing he did was leave him out...
Mansfield can't lose to 3 of the bottom 4 in a week. With injuries galore for Shrewsbury, will be a narrow away win unless we get some reinforcements before the weekend
Another dull game involving Shrewsbury. It's certainly not going to be pretty to the end of the season. Quality free kick from Norwood to win it. Stockport deserved it over the 90. At least showed a bit of fight at the end without really creating much other than a Marquis header.
Hopefully...
Only conceded more than 1 in a game once since Blackman came in on 21 December. Just can't score. No threat going forward and Morgan Feeney stretchered off which means we need probably at least 3 more players before the end of the window.
As Ainsworth keeps saying, as long as we're above the...
An early goal and it should be a comfortable night for Stockport. Pierre, Hoole and Castledine out of our already threadbare squad sp the team picks itself. Our bench has 4 players clearly not fancied (one returned by Carlisle!), 2 new strikers from non-league and a youth teamer.
Hope I'm...
Unless we make some signings tomorrow, expect to have the ball for most of the game with us sitting deep and we'll try and hit you on the counter. Although Ainsworth has hinted at changes, not sure who
Nothing to do with the come down after winning the local Derby, more the fact we have the joint worst away record in the league and haven't won back to back games in 2 years! Also haven't won at Charlton since the play off game in 2018.
It's a fair point in that we haven't got much quality, which is a reflection of penny pinching in the summer. What we have now is the players giving their all for 90 minutes and hassling opposition and trying to capitalise on mistakes. The first part of the season there seemed to be an...
I imagine it'll be the same starting 11 at Charlton tomorrow for Shrewsbury, unless Pierre is injured in which case Nsiala will come in.
Same commitment as the Wrexham game and we should get something. However, after we beat Birmingham we went on to lose 3 in a row conceding 10 goals, which...
I've also seen those 4 speculated at our end too. Tafazolli and Hanlan in particular. Butcher was mentioned just before the window opened, but not as much now. Whereas Wheeler has cropped up more recently.
I'm sure all would improve us this season. The early business in the window was clearly...
Stewart from Leamington and Dingana from Telford, and technically Gape who was with Eastleigh on a short term deal but left mutually, so yes 3 so far, with rumours of maybe another from Telford to come.
The first 2 definitely seem more development players, not what we really need right now...
Ricardo Dingana latest recruit from AFC Telford. Looks like another development player for Ainsworth to work with. Imagine the guy from Leamington will be ahead of him in the pecking order.
Still need to find some players with league 1 experience, especially midfield. At least Blackman has now...
Carl Winchester has had his contract mutually terminated so that he can return to Northern Ireland to be with his family. Not fair to stand in the way of that, especially with a young daughter
Looks like Dominic Gape is likely to sign at Shrewsbury. Left Eastleigh after a short term deal, played under Ainsworth at Wycombe. Can't say I know anything about him
Was always going to be the case. Can't have the game delayed and not have it investigated. Doubt the smoke bombs would have gone down well either. Fine incoming.
Some of our fans are still obsessed with the McClean situation, and his social media comments 2 days after the game just stoked it up...
The thing I've noticed with Ainsworth is just how positive he is in every interview. Acknowledges that we're in a tough position but he's confident (or gives that impression) that we'll get out of it come May. Makes such a difference to Hurst who always talked up the opposition and how difficult...
