Fully expecting a fine for it, annoying as we need the cash for players.
You're right, they only turn up for the big games or where they can give it the biggun to away fans. Used to be quite busy over in Block 19 but it's been pretty quiet apart from the back few rows most of the season
O'Connell was our man of the match tonight. The lineup showed that we were just going to dig in and try and nick something on the break. 2nd awful penalty for Marquis but the rebound fell kindly to him. We haven't got much quality going forward but Ainsworth can get them fighting for each other...
Tommi O'Reilly, season long loan from Villa, recalled and promptly sent to MK Don's. Looked good in pre season and started the season well, but then Hurst left him out at Wrexham early September and has barely featured since. Decent player but not necessarily what you need in a struggling team
I imagine Ainsworth will go with the same back keeper and back 5 as recent games, then anyone's guess for the other 5.
Hopefully he can conjure up the same spirit tonight as he did for the Birmingham game. Just needs to do it consistently.
First goal is crucial. If Wrexham score first can't...
Forgot to add that we have to go to Leamington for a pre season friendly as part of the deal!
Can't see him featuring tomorrow, but would love it if he did bag a hat trick. Would have to create his own chances tho. Think we've just about got enough players to fill the bench
Shrewsbury sign National League North joint top scorer Callum Stewart from Leamington for an undisclosed fee. Think that one comes under the category of "taking a gamble".
Ironically the other joint top scorer in the league is Charlie Caton who Cotterill released. He looked far too lightweight...
Excellent shot stopper, possibly one of the best in the league on his day, but for a modern day keeper distribution a bit suspect. I personnaly prefer a keeper who can stop the ball going in the net rather than pinging passes like a playmaker. Can be prone to the odd nightmare game, Oxford away...
Tom Bloxham sold to Blackpool for an undisclosed fee. Been our main attacking threat since Ainsworth has come in. Surely could have waited until after Thursday night, unless we've got reinforcements coming in imminently
Looks like Carl Winchester will be next one out at Shrewsbury. Rumoured to be heading to Derry City to be closer to his family. Did an interview with the Shropshire Star last week saying he's finding it harder being away from home
Not really. Started off ok, picked up an injury (surprise) early on and hasn't really established himself since getting back. Doesn't seem to be an Ainsworth type player. It says something when Taylor Perry is being picked ahead of him as he can get about the pitch more, despite Rossiter being a...
Charles Darwin is a good option in Sutton Farm, not one I've used for a long time. Apologies I forgot about that one! Car park used to be much bigger until they stuck a Co-Op in the corner. A little further from the ground in the other direction, but not much and still walking distance.
The park and ride site at Meole Brace used to do free parking. Now charge on a match day as its part of the official travel plan. It is probably closer to 10 minutes, unless you cut through the back of the retail park.
If I drive is usually park at Brooklands but haven't for a while. Normally...
There's not much in the way of on street parking nearby, lots of resident oly schemes in place. The retail parks also have ANPR cameras and have a limit of 90 minutes on match days.
Brooklands Pub and Pritchards Van Hire are both just off the Meole Brace roundabout by the BP Garage and both...
Further to my previous reply, this was the latest from Twitter / "X" from the club about 20 minutes ago
"We are closely monitoring the Croud Meadow pitch ahead of this weekend's clash with HTAFC.
The covers have been on since Tuesday morning and preparations are continuing as normal.

No under soil heating but frost covers. There been on all week and work down to a certain temperature. Tomorrow isn't supposed to get above freezing in town, only going above freezing Saturday morning. The problem area is usually the goalmouth at the home end that never gets any sun this time of...
Excellent post.
I'd also add that the EPPP (or whatever it's called) means that the Premier League clubs can hoover up the best young talent for relative peanuts, so it's harder for the smaller clubs to keep their gems and sell them on for big money in the future. Here at Shrewsbury we...
Charles Sagoe Jnr loan ended and returned to Arsenal. Looked your stereotypical Premier u23 player, good on the ball but not up to the hustle and bustle of league 1 at present.
Ainsworth alluded to tired bodies after the game. We've kept the same back 5 and keeper, who only signed before the Wigan game having not had a club all season, for all 5 games over Christmas and New Year. Basically said that they couldn't keep up with your movement in the 2nd half.
At least...
