Nice phlegm unity from Rooney and fellaini there at the end

    Boxing Day Match Thread

I never fancy using the supporters coach so gave PVR a miss today, I do like my away trips to welling though. Should be a win with their awful recent record but we've started to drop off the pace and they are due a win over us. 9 from 9 is possible and would be encouraging for the new year

Keep it tight at the back and you might be able to pick up a 'handy' result

    The Flat Earth

If you'd asked me that in 2009 and I had any idea what a Lamberts conformal conic chart is I might have a chance :-D

    The Flat Earth

The world is quite large...this is why experiments over 6 miles on a river are laughable, and why the horizon looks flat.

    The Flat Earth

...yes? Haha all I know is the calculations become noticeably different..

    The Flat Earth

6 miles? Well that's not a large enough distance to experiment with, no wonder they thought it was flat. Again, the earth can be considered as flat for distance calculations up to 600 nautical miles.

    The Flat Earth

Not if you consider that any difference is negligible under 600 NM, it would only need the odd correction in long haul flights

    Arsenal v Man City - Mon 21st Dec 2015

You like the side with most possession to win the game apart from when you don't like the side with most possession to win the game. Consider yourself a high functioning imbecile.

    The Flat Earth

What, exactly the same height? Why would they have to do that? We have a couple of pilots on here I'm sure they can answer that

    The Flat Earth

It's an oblate spheroid. If you're planning a sea trip, the curvature of the earth is more or less irrelevant when travelling a distance of 600 nautical miles or less (using plane or mercator sailing). Any calculations over this distance would indeed have to take into account this curvature...
