We made the same mistakes against Spurs last season. Gave them too much space in midfield and ended up with a back line of six players. I guess with a midfield pairing of Danns and Perkins (combined age of 74), who'd played 120 minutes three days prior it was always going to be a tough ask.
Makes an absolutely mockery of the whole debacle. They’ll be wanting sympathy in a couple of years time when they’re back in administration and wiping off tonnes more debt owed to small businesses and charities.
Surely it's the opposite? Multiple companies with bottomless pockets bidding up the prices of various packages as they know they'll recoup the money from their subscribers.
We all knew it was coming but absolutely gutted to see him go. He has reached legendary status for his role in digging us out of the horrendous hole we were stuck in.
Hope he has another great season aside from the two obvious games!
If the clubs goes into admin is there not a rule for Football League teams where they have to guarantee at least 35p in pound to all creditors? Given some of the figures being mentioned, where's the money to cover the 35% coming from?
Can’t beat a last minute goal, especially when’s in the 119th minute to seal promotion at Wembley! Absolutely made up for Connor Jennings, often doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for creating all those chances for Norwood so to see him grab the winner in such dramatic fashion was amazing...
You could counter that stat with the fact we’ve conceded three goals in I think nine away games this season in all competitions. All that goes out the window when it comes to the playoffs IMO. Could see this coming down to whoever best deals with the nerves. If we can snatch an early goal we...
Pretty disappointing night really, given the circumstances. First half we were so wasteful and second we were just poor and tactically outplayed yet again by Mark Cooper. Maybe playing against 10 men worked against us as we couldn’t break down that many men behind the ball but playing through...
This. An unbelievable comeback but sickening when the winner went in. Can’t help but feeling a spell of Liverpool dominance is on the horizon which would be terrible for our crowds. Bring back Roy Hodgson!
We need an early goal so FGR are forced to attack us and we can hit them on the counter. Going behind and having to endure their "tactics" again, doesn't bear thinking about.
Sadly that was probably McNultys last ever game at this level. It'll be a shame to see him go as we wouldn't be back in the Football League without him, but our back line has massively improved since he was dropped for either Ellis or Nelson.
Easily the best opposition player I’ve seen at Prenton Park all season *. Our back line had no chance against him and if you’d needed a win to seal promotion he’d have ripped us apart even more.
Edit: * In the league. I'd done a good job of blanking the 7-0 hammering by Spurs from my memory...
