Apparently there's a non-league striker we've been sniffing at that just had a League 2 club match their release clause. Seems to be a bit of indecisiveness of whether we'll try and match it or not. Look at the list, I can't see a lot of options out there that are at an age worth paying money...
As of this March they were over £19million in debt. I can't think of many clubs who aren't more dependent on their owners.
I think the only club who post a profit and aren't owner dependent are Exeter.
I think he just really loves big piles of cash. Like, I'm just fucking baffled by it. We were resigned for him going as he's on a free and a good age with plenty of experience, but there would definitely be League One clubs who could pay more than us that would have been interested.
Sam Sherring has turned down a contract to join a League 2 team (MK Dons apparently). He was on a few wishlists on here on a free I think as well, no fucking idea why he's gone down a league. Apparently it's not financially but that seems incredible unlikely.
It was based on a fan on their forum who knows one of our coaches apparently. Obviously may not be accurate, but at his age profile and ability to grow and potentially sell on and ability at this level I think Leonard would me a marquee signing for them in the same way Mullin was back in their...
What's Birmingham's financial like? Are they able to offer the £10k wages a week that Wrexham were offering, because that would obviously be a swinger.
Really deserves to be playing Championship football, but I guess Oxford are going to be one of the favourites to go back down, and unless a...
Alan Nixon has reported that we've moved ahead of Stevanage to sign Malachi Boateng from Palace. Maybe as a result of then signing Kemp today, though would be nice to beat them for someone after losing Appere.
Dan Kemp has gone to Stevanage. Another we rumoured to maybe interested in, though not an ironclad rumour. Still 6 other teams as well as us who are yet to make a signing.
McGowan is what you'd call a leader. Good talker, won't avoid a tackle, will put his body on the line, much better in the air then you'd guess from his size. Only thing keeping him from being a solid league 1 player is his slowness. He is 100% a fullback, and not a wing back.
1st year in League...
Interesting that we've not heard a peep about that, but we're normally such a tight ship with rumours under Brady we never really know anything until the day someone signs. Sort of a lose/lose situation here - losing out on yet another player are going to set off the usual people about having...
There's a post on your forum (http://www.redpassion.co.uk/forums/wrexham/124145-too-soon-transfer-targets-128.html#post2857225) last week actually from someone who supposedly knows a cobblers coach, who said that we were trying to sign a player who'd been on loan from us for two years (either...
Brady said at the end of last match interview that he'd been talking to Marc and there had been plenty of interest from League One and Championship teams, and at the prices being bandied about were true we'd even be willing to take a look at (though even at £300k odd that would be twice as much...
Leonard's been linked to both Oxford and Wrexham on a permanent. If this actually happens I think I'll just give up on football, he absolutely should not be playing League one football next year.
It's going to be crap because we don't have an owner that likes big deficit funding between income and wages unlike most, and even if we had another year like last tear with Sixfields 90% full every game, attendances would only put us 18th in the table with the teams coming up from League 2...
He had a purple patch around Christmas where we got him putting a shift in with box to box runs, and can put in a few passes with a big of quality, but spent a lot of time on the pitch not affected the game and really lacked physicality. On his form over the course of the year, he'd struggle to...
Bacchus was someone I picked out last year based on his stats as an ideal replacement for Leonard before Leonard came back on loan anyway. Think he'd be a great signing for Mansfield based on his numbers (obviously, sight unseen).
I'm a self-confessed Appere fan, I like his work rate, I think...
McWilliams has very obvious holes in his game where his not up to League 1 standard, particularly in terms of passing and decisions around keeping the ball, shooting from anywhere... but he makes up with it with the bit's he strong at, particularly slide tackling, work rate, and winning the...
Can imagine Bolton are going to give us a hiding next week as well, so need to just brace ourselvers for a bit and get through to easier games.
I've only seen the replay on twitter, and I can absolutely see that view, but by all accounts the tackle drew blood from Pinnock's shin. Not that it...
Portsmouth 2-0 up and they've had one chalked off for offside and missed a penalty. And Hoskins has come off with a hamstring injury. Other than it's going great.
