Sounds like Wednesday dominated the 1st half and Barnsley were really poor.
However as the 2nd half wore on Wednesday sat back more holding on to the lead and Barnsley risked it more going forward.
According to the commentators they said Barnsley’s late goal...
Good performance, after a slow start we’re now so consistent.
Wilder has that winning formula, now won 20 from the last 25 league matches, Thought Leeds were pretty one dimensional apart from Saiz, who looked lively and the only danger. If that shot off the post had gone in then who knows...
Leeds United form says they are either really good or really poor
Sheff Utd are really consistent and always play well but never thrash anyone.
If Leeds play their best they should win, if they’re not at their best they could easily lose.
Anyhow Sheff Utd haven’t drawn for (I think) 20 league...
Fair point, “good chance” is the wrong phrase, more like “realistic chance”
even though I accept we are still big outsiders.
Agree, there are several teams with more potential quality than us.
If those clubs click (like you’d expect) then doubt we’ll keep it.
I’m just happy that we’re involved...
Partially agree but if a player wanted to leave SU to join Burnley, he’d tell the player (someone like the highly talented David Brooks), why join Burnley when there’s a good chance SU will be in the PL next season. He’d say “just give us 2 years commitment and if we’re not in the PL then you...
Maybe I’m being naive but I’d be shocked if Wilder left for a bottom half PL club.
Wilder isn’t a normal SU fan (like Warnock), he’s fanatical about the club, he and his assistant Alan Knill still live in Sheffield and have done for many years. Wilders family and friends are Blades, his brother...
Nigel Clough was the same with us.
He played decent passing/ possession football but it was too slow and predictable.
It became a bit of a joke as you knew every game would be 0-0 at half time.
It was often like watching a tactical game of chess, interesting but a real lack of goal mouth action...
I work with a Forest fan and he always laughs when you mention Forest.
He says he stil can’t work out whether Forest are a good team with genuine chance of the playoffs
Or a poor team with relegation worries. He also says there’s been games where Forest have played well but unluckily lost and...
Not surprised that Wigan are romping away but it’s incredible what’s happening with Shrewsbury.
I keep thinking it won’t last but they keep winning and are still unbeaten, incredible.
Apparently their manager is from Sheffield and a Wednesday fan.
Heard some Owls saying Paul Hurst should be...
Fair and logical point.
However we did lose 2 consecutive matches in our 1st three games, so that stopped the momentum from last season. Confidence does play a massive part, there’s so much belief and positivity.
The weird thing is our players look higher quality than the opposition in...
A factor that should help Sheffield United maintain a promotion run is that Wilder has previous.
2016 finished top of league 2 on 99 points
2017 had a terrible start but finished top of league 1 on 100 points.
So following the pattern he’s due 101 points this season ha ha (joking of course)...
Another excellent display.
Totally dominant for 70 minutes although I think it might have been Reading being really poor instead of us being really good. We deserved more than the 2 goal lead. Reading risked it more and made a game of it for the last 20 minutes but we were still quite...
Very true ha.
In private I keep predicting doom and gloom but it’d just not happening. Wilder is like the Messiah with the Midas touch,
Even our star youngster David Brooks has just signed a new 4 year contract this afternoon. All seems a bit too good to be true.
Don’t worry I’ll give the...
This hot and cold comment doesn’t seem to apply to Sheff United.
I’m not exagerrating when I say that win, draw or lose Wilder ensures we always play well and give 100%. Our midfield has been dominant in every match of late, we even outplayed a fantastic Wolves team for long spells who had an...
These days several city centre pubs in Sheffield sell a decent choice of real ales.
It’s pretty easy to make the day seem like a beer festival tour.
There’s also a pub within the Sheffield train station called “Sheffield Tap”, it’s a bit expensive but sells a huge selection of beers and lagers.
We struggled a little in our first 3 matches trying to come to terms with the division but in our last 9 matches we’ve been fairly comfortable being the better team. No last minute winners or dodgy decisions etc.
So we’re pretty consistent putting in a good performances without hitting the...
There’s no outstanding teams this season but that makes it exciting because loads of teams will feel they have a chance.
The teams that gain promotion will be the ones with consistency.
Entertaining game today, have to admit Wednesday looked good.
Wednesdays next game is against down and out...
F-T Forest 2 Blades 1
Decent game , loads of chances both ends, could have gone either way.
Uniteds performance was decent, so no complaints, well done Forest.
