I know what you mean. Surely the club celebrate getting to the first tier more than the Glass moment though?
It's a bit like our National League win last season. I can understand some of the younger lads who maybe came of age with the club at that level getting all excited, but for us older...
Dunno why it stuck tbh. We've always been called Town locally. If I used it where I live now no one would have the faintest idea who or what I was talking about, but it makes perfect sense in and around Chesterfield.
Just what we need, an objective view from the Notts lot on Armando
Let’s say he has a release clause and it’s met. In reality it’ll be a handshake and a case of wishing each other good luck and that’ll be that.
I wouldn’t be sorry about it. It’s hardly a controversial opinion to say we were average when we had maybe two or three (at a push) shots on target all game.
There’s a bit of a discrepancy about what qualifies as dominating a game anyway. Passing it across the back four for an hour doesn’t...
Don’t be fooled by his on pitch persona. We’ve already gone through one contract renegotiation with Dobs and there was never any indication that he was being particularly awkward during that. There’s a lot of mutual respect between player and manager there and I’m pretty sure Cook wouldn’t stand...
He’s clearly made the step up from the NL with ease; even if you don’t see him every week the stats will tell you he plays virtually every game and has an excellent goal and assist return. He’s proved he’s capable of improving his game and absolutely has a winner’s mentality.
There’s no doubt...
I know where you are coming from - there aren’t many players like him out there that have his kind of attributes - but that is huge money for a division four player.
Looks like Dylan Duffy coming in from Lincoln.
This appears to be leading towards some major bedwetting amongst the fanbase that Dobra is shortly to be sold.
I was also confused by the shouting at Sheckleford as it was Pepple who was fouled for the red. Mistaken identity or taking too much hospitality from the Derby Tup were obviously at fault.
Personally I thought it was an awful game.
I was surprised to see Vernam and Green on your bench. I thought they were your most effective players at our place causing plenty of problems.
What’s happening with the ground now? Are you still on about moving? It’s a bit of an odd set up now having to go round to the back of the stand on the...
Me and the lad drove round to Ernie Beckett’s after the game and got a takeout while the traffic died down. I’m going to do that again next time we visit. Delicious.
I think you’ll be safe with that. There’s currently 8 points between you and Morecambe who don’t have any games in hand. Then you have other nosediving clubs between Barrow and the relegation spaces, all of whom will need to turn around their form in order to get past you. I can’t see that...
I saw the guy playing the bagpipes in the middle but didn't have a clue what it was for. For all I know this could be a regular thing at Blundell Park. Couldn't see a screen from where I was sat (as it's facing the home fans) and couldn't hear fuck all in the stand. I'm assuming this was...
Ever since the Trust took over attendances have been good. When the Kirks got involved it just seemed to go up another gear.
I'm old enough to remember when we considered anything over 3000 at Saltergate as a good attendance, so we have indeed come a long way.
