Can only assume it's to try & keep the confidence in his team. He can hardly come out and say they were much better than us again & deserved to win, especially as it's quite possible that we may meet again in the play-offs.
FWIW, I thought they looked a decent side, and it helped us that they...
Keeper has his hands on the ball, albeit not yet caught it, and one of the two Lincoln players (assume it's Bostwick_ collide with him as he's trying to make the catch. I was directly behind the goal & there was definitely contact on the keeper as he's trying to catch it
In every other scenario...
As the keeper is catching it he is bundled into the net, even Bostwick admitted after the game he got nowhere near the ball.
To be honest, wasn't a surprise as the Ref was absolutely useless, obviously enjoyed his Lincolnshire sausage before the game.
Would have taken a draw before the game...
To be fair if you had a team that could defend, then it's not a bad idea.
Unfortunately for you, and us, there were very few competent defenders on show yesterday
To be fair the ref at Swindon yesterday made, at the very least, some odd decisions.
The free kick mentioned was probably the worst, I did think it was a foul, but the fact that the ball went straight to a Crewe player who played on for some time before the ref decided to give it.
That said...
Especially if it's sold out. Normally when we go to games there's room for you sit where you want, and the stewards confirm this.
A group of us go to games, but we all live in different areas & buy tickets online at different times but try & sit together where we can
Ive seen it reported that there were 1280 Swindon fans at Coventry.
Seems about right, we sold about 1000 before hand & the cash queue to get in was bigger than the ticket queue when we arrived so 200-300 POTD seems reasonable
Ours have fluctuated a fair bit since the turn of the century.
Not surprisingly the average is generally better when the team is doing better, albeit the second highest average was the season we got relegated to League 2 the last time, although this was largely based on good season ticket...
I posted in the match thread that I thought it looked like it was around 600-700 mark.
To be honest I don't know why they have stopped giving away numbers, up to this season we have always done so.
Poor game, but honestly felt that if anyone deserved to win it was us.
Hope the FGR player is ok, you could tell it was quite bad because he didn't move at all & the players close to him were quite concerned. Not sure who it was but someone got him into the recovery position fairly quickly, so...
Unlike Cambridge fans (after we played them) I can't with a straight face come on and say it was anything else.
I thought he was going to put it out for a goal kick, which would have been just about OK, but a throw in right in the corner wasn't right.
I think it just shows just how desperate...
No idea if Stevenage were good or made to look good by a completely inept display from Swindon.
I'd say it was probably the latter, but doesn't really matter as they are the one's in the hat (albeit it's not a hat or even a bag anymore)
There's a guy who runs a Swindon Town stats website, which has the crowd as 6140, with 196 away fans. If he didn't have an official number he would leave it blank, but no idea where he gets his info from. I would tend to believe it's accurate
