Yeah defensively we've been good in most games, but other than at Crewe we've offered nothing at the other end. That has to change if we want to win games.
We hit them on the break, played with a bit of urgency and actually passed the ball to each other when we got in their half. Set pieces were decent too. Granted it was only for a 15-20 minute spell but that was enough to kill the game. After that we defended pretty well.
Unusual seeing Cotterill get mardy or spout shite in interviews, not really the type. Probably getting fed up of how useless our squad is. That survival bonus is slipping away.
Bit flat from us really, never really felt like we were going to score. Couple of decent set pieces and a late couple of shots from Osadebe and Mcallister that forced saves. Mansfield did enough to grind it out, Keillor-Dunn was their biggest threat as expected. Their goal was a header that...
We did play very well in that game, defended solidly and were clinical on the break, plus given how in the other 4 matches we've played around that game we've only managed a combined 1 shot on target, it's the only performance giving us any hope.
This was us less then two years ago at Field Mill.
Tomorrow night a loss could go a long way to confirming our relegation from the same division, especially if Colchester get a result. Shows how quick things can go down the shitter, enjoy the good times while you can
I don't see us back in the EFL for a while tbh. Too much instability on and off the pitch. If Cotterill stays we can hopefully stabilise but if he doesn't a third relegation isn't out of the question.
I'm just fed up of being 24th. Spent most of last season and a fair bit of this there, every time you look at the table it's depressing af. At the very least if we do go down again I hope we don't end up finishing bottom of the league for 2 seasons running.
There wasn't much in the first game between us and Mansfield a couple of months back, 4-0 flattered them and now they're in poor form and in danger of bottling prpmotion again, we need to capitalise on that.
If we play like we did at Crewe no reason we can't get the win here.
