I suspect our youngsters will be given another valuable lesson tonight by Spennymoor unless they learned very quickly from the Southport game on Saturday. At least its enjoyable to watch this season and they should improve as a team as the season progresses.
On the plus side they have installed a perimeter fence around the pitch now so fans can get closer to the action and the pitch looked really good, the best I've ever seen it.
After two summers of player clear outs from the Cox era debacle we appear to have the makings of a decent team this season. 80% young kids with a point to prove either from the lower leagues or released from efl clubs. The workrate is absolutely phenomenal. Even five goals in front tonight Kane...
If you have a midfielder who can pick out slide rule passes in behind defensive lines for him to run onto he'll shine. Hopeless with his back to goal he's far too polite to fight for the ball. It also takes him a couple of seconds to process what's happening around him so the defenders have two...
He is a fully committed defender but has zero subtlety or deftness of touch. All balls played are full force whether by foot or head. Lots to learn about reading the game and positioning. Gets his head on lots of balls in the opposition box too but 99% will go high and wide. The only time he got...
Thanks, yes they're a friendly bunch.
Yesterday was a new season low on the pitch - simply awful. 95 minutes of hoof and hope an increasingly popular tactic from our management duo despite it failing to work. Our most successful tactic is to get the ball down, pass and move (we've looked superb...
This season we've been pretty tough to beat but not had quite enough to win either. The last two games are pretty indicative, 1-3 lead at Fcum became 3-3. 3-0 half time v Barnoldswick became 3-3 before an injury time winner saved some blushes. Very frustrating!
Definite penalty for me last week! Will beat him to the ball and was then tripped as Baines went to kick the ball that was no longer there. Abysmal decision by the ref. About on a par with the shirt pulling penalty awarded against us at Fcum yesterday. Both teams doing it at every corner yet he...
We're in the same boat as Chester, struggling with injuries to key players whilst operating with a small squad.
We rarely 'fail to turn up' in games, most end up low scoring affairs mostly draws and the wins/losses are by a single goal.
Tough start to the year too with Bradford twice...
