Sublime opening goal for us today followed by a wind assisted, direct from a corner goal for Brackley. We then seemed to be content to sit deep, try to keep possession (some occasional success) without actually gaining any ground until the end of the game when we were gifted a wind assisted goal...
Winning 0-2 with 7 minutes left and cutting them open yet we then defend like schoolboys when they pile long punts into our box. A comfortable victory becoes a sloppy draw. Idiots!
It sounds as though we failed to defend set pieces yesterday which has been a strength so far this season. I hope Scott Garner is back from injury very soon as he's been a rock in central defence. Terry Kennedy only just coming back after various knocks and looked very rusty.
Yes, slowly but steadily improving. The main difference to last years team is a strong mentality this season and more experience in defence.
We really should have had a minimum of a draw in our first game away to Boston, Chorley at home they shaded, fair enough.
Failure to take chances was...

Sit him in front of your center backs and he'll deal with most of the high balls leaving the defenders free to concentrate on everything else. Built like an Ox!

You would have seen it from behind so not the best view I suspect. He stretched/ lunged and landed on James' ankle. The Guiseley players closest were straight to the ref.
I actually thought Denton should have seen red for the elbow on Garner, he swung it for all to see, ref bottled that one.
Alfreton 0 - 1 Guiseley
A battle to be sure but one we just edged overall.
Denton struggled to keep his composure, booked for an elbow to Garners head but got away with another two thrown at Wells. Middleton sent off for a nasty studs up lunge on Kingsley James.
Liburd finally slotted home a...
