Jake has the ball playing talent but is very much the gentleman on the pitch and seems to struggle mentally with using the dark arts that everyone else employs. Get that side into him and you'll have a winner. In the NLN he played mostly as a ball playing midfielder for us.
We work hard and show dogged determination but are toothless in attack and all too quickly resort to hoof ball. Too many injuries right now so I can't see anything but a win for you next week.
The one positive is that none of the teams we've faced have been much better than ourselves!
Not as frustrated as we Guiseley fans with the most homely of homer officials we've ever had the misfortune to stare at in disbelief!
Halls must have spent most of last season in the Chester gymnasium he's bulked up with muscle so much. He's far better at center back than midfield.
Pretty even...
It was an absolute stinker of a miss but the pitch was in an awful state after all the rain.
Looking forward to tomorrow, always a good away day regardless of result.
More than likely, although we still haven't been able to play our best eleven yet due to injuries. It won't happen tomorrow either so a hard fought draw is probably the best we can hope for.
Our first five games have been against teams in the current top seven so not too worried just yet.
Thanks, it turned into a struggle to be honest, probably our worst performance so far after Liburd failed to score with two one on ones in the first 15 minutes. Still we got there in the end.
Never had any issue with Nuneaton in the past but wasn't impressed with their antics today.
I'll see your ref and raise you ours!
Booked the Nuneaton no. 2 in both halves but didn't show the red, missed so many niggly, dirty off the ball incidents from Nuneaton as well as two blatant fouls in their penalty area, one right in front of the assistant who said and did nothing all game...
The state of the pitch wasn't condusive to either team playing anything like they might have wanted. So dry, sandy, long grass and very uneven surface. The ball bobbled around so much it was practically impossible to dribble or achieve accurate passes. Maybe it's a home choice to have it that...
The only time we saw his 'best' was in the fa cup game away at Accy. He just proved that he was mugging us off the rest of the time. Serial jogger.
He'd star in walking football though :D
I didn't hear of him getting involved with fans.
Stockport 1-1 Guiseley
A fair result, both teams set out to win the game. Stockport quick out of the blocks and ran us ragged for 10 minutes then we settled in and befan to get our pacy forwards into the game with Odejayi feeding them quite effectively. It's the first time since pre season that...
Off field antics aside, he can play but seems to lack the desire to work hard. When teams hit us on the break last season it was infuriating to see him just jogging back as the opposition raced past him!
You deserved the win. More desire and better organised than us.
Only our management know why we played the same system and personnel as Saturday when it was toothless against Boston.
No width until we were two goals down and all too late just like Saturday. It's just far too easy for the...
Boston 1-0 Guiseley
A bit of a borefest really neither team troubling the opposition keeper much at all. Both teams hit the bar once and Boston's sub striker (Johnson) used his pace late on to get in behind for the only goal.
Guiseley set up to stifle Boston rather than play our own game...
Boston away for our first game. From what I've read they are one of the fancied teams so it will be interesting to see how far away we are from them on Saturday. Hopefully we will have everyone fit as there have been a few knocks over the last week.
Our last psf tonight against Barnsley...
Not good :(
Scant consolation I know but I watched Park Avenue v Barrow yesterday. It was pretty dire but Avenue did eventually put a few moves together late on for their two goals. Barrow on the other hand could only manage a shot against the post from five yards. I'd be rather worried if I...
It's always a risk with such pacy wingers along with injuries however our current management team have a history of nurturing and developing young talent so we shall see. Management, players and fans witnessed his terrific performance against Bolton and his fifteen minutes v Leeds (scoring in...
