I think some would class the tackle a reckless, like the referee did. Doesn't mean I'd have given it a red if I was in charge, but it isn't up to me.
As I said, as far as red cards go it was very soft.
Not a point that it comes down to in the rules, but something some refs do take into...
I used the google maps distances
Bristol-Sheffield 179.6 miles
Preston-Sheffield 96.8 miles
Difference of 82.8 miles.
Edit- no idea why I was thinking Preston-Sheffield, its been a tough week.
Expensive time of year and it being on TV on a Friday night wasnt allowed to be given as an excuse when it was us.
Our numbers up there were poor, but so is that from Preston, especially as they have 80 odd miles less to travel.
You realise that numbers fluctuate? Our core has grown.
And I didn't say our core was 15k or 19k ffs.
Of course the average includes away fans, but even taking them into account the number is well above 12k.
There certainly wasn't 7k away fans on average last season.
We were shit the last 2 seasons and averaged 15k and 19k. The first of those with our biggest stand shut because of the redevelopment.
Obviously those averages include ST holders who may not go to every game, but there wasnt a 7k disparity at games last season.
7 players injured right now, and Wolves the best team in the league, so a very tough match.
That said I feel confident that we could beat anyone in this league right now.
There's going to be goals for both teams, can see it being 2-1 either way.
Lose and Wolves are out of sight for everyone...
I'd also add that a fair chunk of the increased crowd would be down to the fact it was a quarter final.
Our crowd against Palace was 8k more than against Stoke, our crowd against Manchester was 5k more than Palace.
If we had played Manchester when we played Stoke and Stoke when we played...
Dont fucking lie.
I said he wasnt "miles away" he is certainly down the list, but that is, IMO partly because he is at Bristol City, his performances this season have been good enough for Premier League sides.
No one came running on here to say your players were shit, it was said Henry isn't as...
Can comfortably say he outshone Luke Shaw by some margin on Wednesday.
Not saying Bryan is a better player than Luke Shaw mind, but what a performance!
Eliasson for Leko would be better imo, but can't begrudge Kelly a start, he's a real talent.
Magnusson was really good on Wednesday, but he had a tough time against Rashford.
If Pack was a bit faster he's in a fair bit of pain.
That exact tackle on a Manchester (or Premier League in general) player and they'll be on the floor for 5 minutes.
And here's Pogba diving for their goal
