What's the crack with Burton? I've put them down for relegation, mostly based on them always seeming to scrape survival... they expected to do better this season? have a decent squad?
yeah same. We were predicted by most last year to drop out of the league altogether. I'm not surprised we're among the favourites for the drop again and it's a whole division higher now but I'm hoping we can upset the odds again.
Here's my 1-24
Mostly based on the vibe I'm getting from fans on...
A number of our loan signings last summer mostly didn't do well (Hilton, Idehen) it has no affect on the rest of the team though. Feel like we're still short a goalscorer but then nobody had Dennis down as one last year.
Yeah, hopefully we've pretty much got the keeper sorted since Langley has been with us since the start of preseason. After that, striker as you say, someone with pace I'd hope and then look and see what we can get on loan, the better players won't be available till relatively late in the window...
In our playoff final there were 9 minutes of first half injury time despite being no major stoppages, reminiscient of the world cup so I wonder if the refs were already applying these guidelines at that point.
I've noticed over the last week or two an increase in the number of people predicting us to finish outside the bottom 4... interesting, I wonder if people are thinking we're doing good business in the window or if it's more other clubs having a bad window.
Just looking at the BBC front page for League 2 since I haven't updated my bookmarks to L1 yet.
Of the news items on page 1, they have one for every signing, as you'd expect, a couple that relate to the league as a whole (the latest being the new rules for timewasting) and then of the ones that...
yeah, we play a 352 and Simmo wanted him to fit into one of the striker roles but he wants to be used as a winger and to be fair to him he has been pretty open about it being his preferred position for the whole time he was here. Sutton are one of the few clubs that I don't think it would be...
That'll probably be the main thing that keeps us from getting his true value. If anything he's developed too quickly and ready to take the next step at a time he still has that 'you were driving a delivery van a year ago' tag hanging over him. In an alternative reality, he has a more modest...
Sky have reported that we turned down a 250k bid for Moxon from Blackpool.
Can't see him going Blackpool but their interest might have put a few of the Championship and Premiership clubs that have been tracking him on alert, think if he does go we'll get over a million for him.
As we're less than couple weeks away now from the start of the season most squads should be taking shape... what starting line-ups are people expecting to go into the season with, and which positions are you still looking for players who can come in and start?
for us...
