Very happy with our performance today, unlike the ref, the lads can hold their heads high. This is the sort of game where I think we will get promoted more than any comfortable win will. Most teams would have buckled under a ref that did all but slot one home for them. Even their comms team said...

It'll be a classic second half as I've decided enough is enough, it was like a training game between a Roy Hodgson team and a Gareth Southgate one. I've also realised that getting called an unglamorous team by a Vale fan is like getting called a fascist by Benito Mussolini

He can't be classing his own side as up there then, as we've scored more and conceded less than them so must have had more comfortable games than them at various stages.

Their players must have brittle bone disease or something, I thought they were getting sniped left right and centre.

Yeah majority is strong, certainly plenty on social media. But with both managers it never translated into mass dissent like it did with the likes of Adams.

For money like every football on the planet, I’d hoped that wouldn’t need spelling out. I don’t disagree with your second paragraph, but we kept explaining it and it didn’t seem to sink in. Look the refs up for them two games if you want to file a complaint for the postponement. Don’t worry...

Notts fans seemed particularly interested in our pitch last season and in the summer, even citing it as a reason for Platt going to them. As we tried telling them, other than last season it has been perfect since 2018 when it had major work done to it, Tbf they were in a pub league so won’t have...

We did, we were doing crap but he did well to save his job. Fans thought the same in Parkinson’s first season years ago and that didn’t turn out badly for us. It happens at plenty of clubs, I’ve seen some fans wanting Parkinson out for the last 3 seasons at Wrexham.

    2024-25 B(D)SM Trophy

I’ve just been reading it on Twitter and talked about it on Bantam talk. No matter how favourites they are they’re looking like a right bunch of wankers. It’s not that often that we’ll be the neutral’s favourite in the lower leagues, but we definitely will be next week.

A game I’ll have forgotten about by the morning, but an important 3 points which is the main thing. We were never in any danger throughout the game despite sleepwalking through the second half.

    Managerial Merry-Go-Round 2020/21

I remember listening to Hughes’ first interview as manager after his first game, 2-0 defeat to Mansfield. He said the boys were too tired afterwards, not through lack of fitness though, but by trying to hard and they needed to let the ball do the work. That’s what you’re dealing with here, he...

Shocked he even wants another job, he’s a multimillionaire and it’ll be a trek for him from Cheshire. No need for him to bother anymore and as others have said it always seemed like he wasn’t arsed what happened. In fact when he took the job I think he more or less said he did it for something...

    2024-25 B(D)SM Trophy

Home tie, we’ve lost one game at home this season and even then we were in poor form and had no midfield. Birmingham would probably be best, as they may not go full strength like they will at Wembley.

He enjoys plenty of possession based football (passing it side to side and having a couple of shots a game). Defo not what you need, surely it won’t happen?

From what I can tell of Vale, your owners are loaded and willing to spend. I wish we were in that position, but we are a self-sustaining club with half a million a year in stadium rent alone. We need absolutely every penny we can get, if we get a battering but bring in £500k plus, then happy...

    2024-25 B(D)SM Trophy

I don't care about this competition in the early rounds, and I know it's the cool thing not to give a toss at all, but we are now in the semis, and the possibility of playing Birmingham at Wembley in front of 60/70k instead of Bromley away in a garden shed on a cold Tuesday night has an appeal...

    The BELEAGUERED Carlisle Utd Thread

Step aside Salford, Wrexham, and other generic famous club owners; we could have Steven Gerrard's Carlisle United as the new poster boys of lower-league football. Until he's sacked for the disaster, it would be, of course.
