I’m ok with gamesman ship to win a game of football. But that nonsense is out of order.
Oh well, the moment Taylor breaks a leg or gets a long term injury in his career, I’ll be the person creating a Twitter account and mock the prick. I wonder if he’ll be waving and laughing then.
Just a weird game today. It was like playing fifa, Lincoln were on top at the start but it wasn’t like we were playing Man City. Just everytime they had a shot it somehow went in. The 2nd and 3rd were so avoidable, any competent defence would have stopped that before the shot even came in. But...
Fair play, beaten by the better side. Derby by far the best team we've played this season - quality all over the pitch.
Weird game though, Derby kept us in our own half the first 45 mins but we went in 0-0 after keeping them pretty much at bay. 2nd half we actually looked better but that played...
Looking forward to this one. We usually play well against the top teams.
After beating Pompey and Bolton recently, I’m sure they’ll be hoping we’re consistent in taking 3 points from Derby too.
I fancy us for a point tbh, but anything can happen. Glad we’re finally seeing some injured players...
Apart from the odd corker, excitement usually comes from the game meaning something. If you’re losing comfortably each game without fight then of course it’s not exciting.
If you’re winning and your players are giving their all, it’s bloody exciting. Eg our game at Orient, it wasn’t a classic...
Weird. When we were there off the top of my head;
FGR, Exeter, Rovers, Vale, Swindon, Mansfield, Tranmere, Orient, Carlisle, Harrogate - all good footballing sides. Against us they were anyway
Said it to my Ipswich supporting mate last year, I honestly preferred L2 football. Back in the 2000s L2 used to be known for lumping it forward. These days I reckon there’s more footballing teams in L2 than L1 tbh.
Interning point b
That’s very interesting and the more I think about it, I’d probably agree. This league overall definitely feels weaker than the last few we’ve spent here, but it’s true that the bottom teams are much better than usual. Most of them know how to score goals and are well...
Agree on it being the only bad challenge, Wilson took one for the team there.
Beckles was constantly fouling, pushing off the ball, throwing and pushing players all over the place. Notice how he came out fine, but Conteh had his shirt ripped in half - and you don't think thats worth a yellow...
no idea on the red either, Lino on our side was the one that gave/called it. Have to say, it felt so good winning against Beckles. That bloke is a disgrace, how the ref never spotted it I’ll never know, but he could have had about 7 yellow cards. Conteh had his shirt literally ripped in half and...
We are known for giving 3 points to struggling sides, we nearly always go 1-0 down too. To see that we won 2-1 I can't help but feel you must really be doomed
I know Carlisle fans will piss themselves at this post, but we really are prime for giving teams on bad form 3 points, especially at home. As soon as we expect a result the team is one of the worst you'll see.
If Carlisle get rough and play direct, long football. They'll nick a goal early and...
I think we were expecting ourselves to be dark horses tbh yeah.
The squad is unbelievably unbalanced. I’d argue that our first 11 could easily be top 6, but the problem is they just can’t stay fit. I guess that’s why they’re playing for us…
Missed the game as was at the theatre, pretty expected from us. Not sure there are any teams that could go away from home without a CM and win.
One thing I will say though, I’m much more comfortable losing 3-1 in our 2nd season in L1, than having to go through the feelings of Barrow ;)
Right now we’re exactly 12 points off play offs and relegation with -1 GD. We’re in a great position to win this, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous by Lincoln’s 12 draws
