Nonsense. He’s only “worth” £15m because you lot were going to spend that much. You couldn’t flog him for £10m right now, and just because he gets 30 goals in L1, he’s not going to be worth £20m. No one will pay that.
If, and I doubt it, there is interest to recoup that money then he’ll need...
Weird game yesterday. We were atrocious for 70 minutes and suddenly after putting on our better players, who're all attackers, we suddenly play P'boro off the park and really should have drawn, if not won it.
Over the balance of play, we deserved nothing, no doubt. Not sure if I'm concerned or...
At the very best, average. I think the reality is that there’s still a Barton cult in the fan base and whoever took over wouldn’t be accepted.
Rightly or wrongly, our expectations these days are to fight for the play offs in L1 and anyone who’s not doing that whilst delivering attacking...
I agree, but it’s circulating like mad. Our local press is saying it’s nonsense though.
Relegation scrap? It’s only a few games in surely? We were 3rd in L1 at Christmas a few years ago and bloody Mansfield in midtable L2 took Coughlan off us, so it wouldn’t surprise me, Taylor isn’t exactly...
Even if Carlisle did approach us for MT, and if we said yes, I really don’t believe for a second that Taylor would move his family up north again so soon.
It’s very early days for anyone to be talking about going up, especially the promoted sides.
You’re benefiting from a very weak L1 last season, the weakest in a very long time. A lot of teams have invested more this season though so it’ll be interesting to see how/if that has changed, so far...
You reminded me of England at their worst under Southgate playing out the back and gifting chances at times.
I don’t remember, until the final 5/10 minutes where suddenly you looked unplayable, you creating any real chances though? My mind is pretty foggy mind.
Yeah I have a feeling we’ll get a bit of a comfortable loss actually, sending the forum into meltdown.
Really looking forward to seeing what we can (or can’t) do with Martin & Soririou in the mix. Would be happy for a point.
Any chances we can blame the pitch quality if we lose?
Great point at Rotherham, undefeated and no goals conceded in the league.
Worried about our attacking prowess though, looking forward to Martin back hopefully against Stockport away, which is not an easy fixture
If you’re looking over your entire history, fair enough. I guess I’ve always seen you as a L2 club but that’s just my history of Rovers / Wrexham I guess
Our first season back in L1 with a fit Rossiter we were awesome until he got injured. We never bounced back from that really.
Last season I think he played 2 games at the end, playing only 45 mins - it was still enough for Taylor to offer him a contract.
On his day, he’s simply too good for...
Not sure how Northamptons summer has gone, but I’d be very surprised to see them relegated. They were one of the surprise packages in the end, not for just their position, but the football they played.
Early days but it feels like we’re in a solid position tbh. Competition throughout the squad, with quality across pitch, but no real standouts. Still would like a more recognised striker though with pace
Good thing you said you have a mate down WSM, I honestly find it a bit of a dive. I don't get the love in for it tbh!
Bristol & Exeter are both grat cities tbf. If you haven't explored the coast of North Devon I highly recommend it!
