Walsall had 4 shots on target all game, scored 4 times! Seen similar stats in previous games.
Grimsby dominated the ball but frankly did nothing with it. Walsalls back 5 were coasting
Second half Walsall came forward and Grimsby surrendered meekly
Didn’t think the Saddlers were anything special...
Bromley’s new pitch ( a hybrid type) was paid for in full by London City Lionesses, who now use the pitch.
There are other 4/5G pitches adjacent to the stadium
Bizarrely, to me at least, The Main Stand is now not the priority. The ‘Findus’ is highest amongst the Safety Advisory Groups concern.
I am very much of the opinion that our SAG are very obstructive. They don’t seem to want to work to find acceptable solutions, just intent on declining everything.
I keep reading about this ‘kind looking run’ up to Xmas but I think the division is so tight, no game is more winnable than any other.
‘Freak’ results occur in every set of results. If ever was a time to take each game as it comes, this is it!
I tipped Walsall pre-season to make the play-offs...
There is no ‘ground situation’! The owners have said many times a new ground is not in the agenda currently. ( unless you have a spare £60-80m hanging around? )
The restricted view seats have been dramatically decreased following the removal of half the support posts in the Main Stand. There...
I think there are a few teams with budgets that are far far higher than the others in League 2 this season. They, undoubtedly, will be the sides at the top come May. Always a wild card, and always a complete failure.
Carlisle, currently look to have wasted their big bucks, MKD may recover (?)...
WHAT??
He was bloody awful!
Not every foul is a yellow card! Really boils my piss!
Anyway, home now with a well earned 3 points. It is always great to see Karl Robinson losing his shit with everyone at the end
Artell didn’t mention Jordan Wrights dislocated shoulder for several days. He hasn’t mentioned Cam Gardner starting tomorrow either but let’s see about that
Seems several clubs have extensive injury lists in League 2. It appears far worse than ‘normal’? Wonder why? Training methods, sports science investment not keeping pace? Seems lots of pulls and tears rather than broken bones.
Grimsby now have both Senior keepers out, Tharme coming back as...
The rules say we need to offer 10% of capacity to away fans.( approx 900) The corner holds circa 600.
We therefore ask what they expect to sell. If less than 600 they get the corner, if more they get behind the goal.
For the more local/ better supported clubs they get the 1200 initially then...
Doncaster were asked if they could sell the corner ( an additional 600 tickets). They responded that they thought they would shift another 150-200. On that basis the corner was kept for home fans.
Lots saying about the travelling Grimsby have done in the last week, isn’t ideal, but can’t help but think Artell talking about it yesterday in the media will have put more mental tiredness into the players. Gave the players a ready made excuse for tiredness.
I thought Donny were excellent from...
Not nonsense really. In the last 8 years Donny have won 5-1, 3-1 and 5-1 at Grimsby. I doubt many teams have performed that badly against any other team in League 2 over that time.
Grimsby haven’t beaten Donny at BP in a league game for 34 years! There have been a couple of hammerings in there too.
Hopefully a close, competitive game this time. Doubt it will be 0-0.
Rolling contracts are the norm these days rather than a set number of years.
Usually 6 (or 12) months rolling contracts. Means the club can get rid and ‘only’ pay up the 6 months. If a manager wants to move on, the new club have to pay 6 months to the original club
