Mansfield will be fine. When teams below are averaging less than a point a game and you’re already nine clear than you don’t have too much to worry about. Of course if Mansfield fail to win any of their next 10 games then that changes but I think even the most negative fan would be surprised at...
We’re hoping for a new manager bounce. Being more awkward to play against should happen but I wouldn’t expect a huge impact overnight - it’s a fundamental style shift. We need to win and I feel the only way we’re going to achieve that is through a huge effort from every player and riding our luck.
lol that’s great. I don’t think they realise how bad they are and that the money bubble has burst - if they don’t come down with us this season then I’d put my money on it next season.
Yeah agreed. I think we’ll get around 35-40 points - ie we’ll have decentish form (for a relegation team) for the rest of the season but ultimately it won’t be enough to get close to staying up.
We’ve not signed enough good players this window to be anywhere close to getting out of it. I think Bishop and Stevenson are decent signings but both strikers are unknown quantities. It’s just not enough.
Tbf I said the same about Portsmouth last season and was shot down by the Pompey fans as they disagreed. The best sides we’ve had down here was when Ipswich, Plymouth and Wednesday were promoted. They were all genuinely brilliant sides. Even Barnsley who finished fourth were excellent.
I think...
Unsurprisingly, we lost. We’re just not good enough.
Surprisingly though, Ryan Loft scored his second in two games. And it was another good strike. #goalmachine
Fourth worst place to live I. The country according to our local rag: https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/cambridgeshire-area-named-one-worst-30837280?int_source=nba
(Apologies for the horrific website)
So yeah, your following can be excused….
He should have gone after only salvaging a last minute equaliser against us. We are dire anyway and also had so many players out injured that we had five academy players and a goalie making up 6 of our 7 subs. Bolton should have destroyed us.
Agree completely. If Man U reach the semis then naturally you’d put them in Cardiff but otherwise you could actually favour the venues based on geography rather than dragging teams from the north down to London just for the semi.
On the last point, they could just play the semis at Old Trafford and the Principality. Both hold 75k which is more than sufficient. Keep Wembley just for the final, as you say.
I understand where Tom is coming from and I privately had this fear as soon as we joined League 1. Put simply, our crowds are in the bottom half of the division and we don’t have a wealthy owner to supplement it so we’re always going to have a low budget at this level. Therefore we’re always...
