So a bit of everything/box-to-box as opposed to predominantly defensive or attacking? Think we've probably been missing more of a battling, holding midfielder as we'd never really replaced Ossama Ashley.
Our game at Salford this evening was called off yesterday prior to the team travelling up. I wasn't sure why nobody had seemingly had the foresight at the beginning of the week to revert it back to tomorrow afternoon given Saturday's forecast, but if other games are still being called off a day...
We were shocking in the first half today and fortunate to only be one goal behind at the break. It was a really heavy pitch, but I don't think we created a single chance prior to half-time and were struggling to pass it more than about five yards without skewing it off the pitch or playing it...
Signed Jayden Richardson on loan until the end of the season. Stockport consensus seems to be that he's a bit of a speed merchant with not a lot else going for him?
I'd say he's my favourite/the best goalkeeper we've had in the past twelve years and would gladly have him back here. It's a decent signing for League Two.
For somebody quite short, he's very well built/stocky so more than holds his own physically and he is rapid too - his goal at Accrington here is a good example of his pace:
He's got an excellent, powerful strike on him and positionally he is very good in and around the box so is in the right...
We had him on trial for pre-season last year and he was really very impressive, but work permit issues meant that we weren't able to sign him when we tried to. It will be interesting to see how he gets on, his goal record in the Senior League was outrageous.
We've had about 10/11 out injured as well, but we seem to have quite happily signed injury prone players for years (e.g. Doug Loft, Emyr Huws, Tom Dallison) so it's probably our own fault as much as anything.
We've managed to score an own goal under no pressure from any forward whatsoever, we're so pathetic.
