I guess last season still has the taste of bitter lemon- good luck in L2 next season....facing Bradford, Salford, Plymouth for those autos etc etc. Play-offs sound promising again.
Arrests downgraded to 5 by Lincs police as
2 x drunk and disorderly
1 x breaching an FBO
1 x Encroaching on playing area
1 x pyro (away end)
Not a single arrest for any public disorder (other than 2 drunks).
Great atmosphere, decent fans and good test- happy to have Wednesday next season as a...
You mean we spent our income from 2 exceptional cup runs and a league win and a 150% increase in season ticket sales.....yes, we invested wisely to attain promotion- you should try it :bye:
Not sure it will be 1800.
We had only two sell-out away ends last season (Mansfield and Grimsby) and neither were given more than 1600. This allowed for a segregation area between the away stand Block 1 and the large home stand Block 7 which is where the 617 are stood.
Worked miserably...
It is the number who enter the ground, not ticket sales.
Tranmere sold out their Easter Monday allocation of 1000 at Sincil Bank but only 920 attended the game.
I only use official away attendances announced (with the exception of around 10 games this season which were estimated on this forum).
Best opposition player:
Been quite a few this season but, for the ability to stand out in a crowd, my vote goes to Stevenage Ilias Chair. Quality in abundance (I know he's on loan at Stevenage from QPR) and two superb goals pulling a draw out of a game in the last few minutes we had tied up...
1007 Dons at Colchester
109 Shrimps at Cambridge
76 Crawley at Carlisle
650 Oldham at Exeter
209 Stevenage at Mansfield
317 Yeovil at Northampton
1113 Swindon at Cheltenham
Just FGR missing today
Have to say, for a dead rubber (for Town), that is exceptional. In fact, likely to be the highest away end in League 2 today.
Just gotta get the team to match the support for next season- but 1208 is sound.
Problem for any ref is how to deal with (all) teams gamesmanship- whether it is taking an extra 10 yards at a throw-in or free kick, time wasting or going down as if poleaxed with the slightest touch and then picking up on the genuine penalties amongst all the shenanigans.
You either deal with...
Thanks- genuinely didn't know about the challenges during the 70s and 80s.
Would agree 5,000 seems to be a settled cohort of regulars which is great for this season and the future.
