I'd agree with that, I didn't actually think we played that badly and we'd have got a draw if it wasn't for the daft penalty we gave you. Given the season you've had, credit is due for persisting and not taking the easy way out (*cough* Dover *cough*)
Called it!
If anyone wonders why we've never been in the playoff race - this is why!
I actually thought Barnet looked a lot better than the table suggests (new manager bounce?) but we were starting to control the game before Fowler made a daft tackle in his own box and gifted a penalty away...
Amazingly we lost at home, mostly because we gifted them 2 goals and had our keeper sent off.
There does seem to be a huge gulf between the bottom 4/5 this season and everyone else. The top 15 i'd say can beat each other on their day, and then it comes down to form and consistency
Weymouth must be bad because their commentators were talking us up like we were Barcelona. We played well and could have won by 5 or 6, but Weymouth were very poor and not helped by a completely non-existant midfield.
Playoffs out of reach realistically but a top 10 finish would be perfect
The Aldershot way is to beat Stockport and then fall to a limp defeat at Dagenham. Fully expecting us to win one and lose one this weekend as we dont do draws this season
We're not in the playoff race - were very good tonight and restricted Notts to very few chances after the early gift of a penalty, but we also have a howler of a performance around the corner.
If we're best in the league at anything its inconsistency. One game we're very good, the next we're...
That was a shocking decision - I dont think there was much, if any contact! We've had so many dodgy decisions go against us this season that we'll take it though!
Dover have effectively defaulted on the season - whether they could have afforded to play on or not, i'd have expected them to be demoted based on previous precedents. Gateshead and Hereford in recent years were demoted for financial irregularities and I'd argue being unable to finish the season...
That was probably as good as we've played all season, barring the first 20 minutes when Wrexham were in complete control and probably should have scored. Gift from their keeper changed the game and gave us a lot of confidence. Second half was comfortable once Nouble put us 2 up.
Considering...
To be honest, there's enough time for the clubs interested to start a new combined league from scratch and play each other once (assuming they play twice a week). Given most games will be behind closed doors, home advantage doesn't count for a lot and as long as they play half at home and half...
I have a feeling we were one of the two clubs that hasn't yet voted. Shahid said on our midweek show last Thursday that under the current terms of the loan, we'd vote null and void, but that we hadn't voted yet. But it didn't sound like a situation where we'd refuse to play if the majority...
For me the fairest way to end the season is PPG. I can also understand why the National League have called it off early as most teams will run on 44 week contracts until the end of April.
If the FL decide to keep Stevenage up, then Barrow will probably be promoted anyway to fill their quota of...
First half nothing much happened.
Second half we wasted 3 or 4 good chances and Dagenham could have done better with a few. Then as the game is heading for a 0-0, we mess about with a tippy tappy free kick, Rowe falls over and we get sucker punched.
Not great to lose, but still only 4 points...
