    26th/27th League 2 Fixtures

And the red card has now been rescinded. I don't tend to moan about refs on the basis that bad decisions are swings and roundabouts over the season but Paul Howard is the worst I've seen for a long, long time. If you see his name down to do a game, be very afraid.

    Saturday 24th September - Fixtures

I think that's right. After the first 10 minutes when I thought we'd get roasted, for the first time this season we really tried to take the game to the opposition and that was borne out by the stats in terms of chances. Lots of bright signs that a corner is at least visible, if not quite yet...

    Stickied League 2 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

Seems to be a consensus that he's very decent. Hopefully this will mean we've seen the last of Lee Brown who is congenitally incapable of passing forward and miles away from the player we thought we were getting last year.

    Stickied League 2 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

He was better than League Two (not so sure now he's 32) but that "when fit" is doing a lot of heavy lifting. It was the miraculous recoveries to go and play for Ghana while being unfit for league action that wound everyone up when we had him.

That sounds promising. Haven't had a proper wanker in midfield for years and what we've been missing.

This. And he was a match-fixer. Football fans don't look too closely when someone's banging in the goals and smashing up opponents but anyone looking back who thinks he's anything other than a terrible human being needs a serious morality check. Should be having nothing to do with him.

    Stickied League 2 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

Because we signed him to hopefully sell on for loads, therefore he must be worth loads. Or something. I've been repeatedly saying that £200k is around what we can realistically expect and not the fantasy half a million. He did get some goals and assists, but frankly never seemed to have any...

    Stickied League 2 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

Are you after both? We're definitely after Tunnicliffe, possibly as a swap for Luke McCormick plus cash from Pompey. Cowleys have said they're no longer interested but they were last summer and a little bird tells me that's for public consumption rather than what's actually happening...

    Tuesday 16th August

Gunter's red card has now been rescinded for 'wrongful dismissal'. Which is surprising to say the least. Surprised we even appealed it. Maybe the ref acknowledged it should have been both players or neither. Doesn't make up for playing a half with only 10 men but pretty sure we were going to...

    Tuesday 16th August

The ball was definitely kicked at Gunther - even your commentators agreed that. But we didn't lose because we had a red and you didn't - we were already in meltdown by then. Looks like our "experience" at the back isn't quite what it was cracked up to be. Gunther is an international who has...

Can't say I've ever knowingly seen him play but you're sounding a bit overexcited. Better than eg Alex Pearce by miles?

    Saturday 6th August

Yeah, he's no angel for sure. And he's got a mouth that gets him into trouble. But he's more sinned against than sinner many times over. I'm not whining because this is League Two and this year at the back we've got Gunther, Brown and Pearce who will do exactly the same to anyone like him. He...

    Saturday 6th August

He's a scrapper and a pain in the arse for defenders, no doubt. But in two games this season he's committed two fouls (no yellows) with eight fouls on him (4 yellows). Are you suggesting he somehow deserves to get properly booted in the air every 20 minutes?

And somehow the ref missed all that. Anyway, he's 5ft 7in and 65kg. Which of your poor little shrinking violet defenders did he bully? Menayese (6ft2 & 80kg), Murray (6ft1 & 79kg) or Lacey (6ft2 & 74kg)? Made them look like Easter Island statues at times.

    League Two Club Ownership Thread

Why is this a bad thing? More local authorities should support their local clubs better. If the people of Doncaster think it's inappropriate they can vote them out, but backing important community assets is the council's job isn't it?

    Stickied League 2 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

What happened? That really doesn't sound like him. He can hit a long pass like nobody else we had, which when it works is great but when it sails into the crowd, not so good. Consistency is his problem, but still only 22 so might still develop. I liked him but unfairly became a bit of a...

    Saturday 6th August

I'd say we showed you too much respect too. We were set up to play much deeper than the week before and the forwards never got going, apart from Assal who had a few moments of trickery but was hacked the moment he wriggled free. Two yellow cards for fouls on him today, and two in the first game...

    Saturday 30th July

Going to revise my prediction to us being unbeaten champions, now we've won game for the first time in 7 months. Jack Currie is going to be worth an awful lot of money if he plays like he did on Saturday for the rest of the season. And the Brentford lad on loan, Maghoma, is a real talent too on...

    Stickied League 2 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

Nathan Young-Coombes on a season-long loan from Brentford. 34 goals for their B team last year with one appearance in the Prem so sounds a very decent extra option up top. Loanees though. Can never really know what you're getting.
