I'd have though that would be obvious: 0 losses in 18 and 8 wins from 8...
To be fair, I had to find a term that encapsulated Mansfield's slightly worse form as well.
I did say if we were in the top 3 after yesterday's match then we'd stay there, but I'm still not ready to say it's definite. Despite our dominance it took a late goal to finally win it, and I'm worried that we will be in trouble if those single goals don't materialise. Port Vale and Mansfield...
Half- time and we're dominating. 61% possession and 13 shots to their 2. But still 0-0. Really worried our lack of goals is going to cost us in the end.
Doesn’t have to be us losing. A lot of our wins over the past few months have been by a single goal, it wouldn't have taken much for those to turn into draws. Whilst I'd not be surprised to see us go unbeaten (apart from against Northampton) the rest of the season, if we had a run like last year...
For some reason I feel so much worse about our chances today than I did yesterday. I guess I'm so used to us bottling it that my main hope was other teams bottling it more. Even though we're still 5 points clear of 4th, it was nice to be 5 clear of 3rd as well.
I concur with those who reckon this will be the top 3 come the end of the season. Final match might decide who's 2nd or 3rd, but hopefully nothing more than that will be at stake.
Was hoping Salford would do us a favour there and make things a little more comfortable, but not to be. Still, I've...
If we did drop out then we'd have had a big drop in form, which wouldn't put us in a good state for the playoffs.
Although I do appreciate everyone's faith in us not ballsing it up at this stage!
I'm in two minds about FGR v Mansfield. On the one hand I'd like a little more breathing space between us and one of the teams behind us, on the other I've still got a sneaky eye on the title. Ultimately a draw would be ideal, but failing that I think I'd rather be secure in the top 3 than risk...
Happy to see that Carlisle have gone off the boil just in time for us to play them next week. A win there and we can relax a bit, with 4 of our remaining 6 being at home, and 3 of them against teams in the bottom 6.
I'll be surprised if Northampton don't beat us, no matter how badly they play. We just seem to have a weird issue with them. In the last 20 years we've played them 23 times and only won 3.
Beyond delighted with an away win against one of the chasing pack. Obviously would have liked a few more of our rivals to slip up, but it doesn't matter if we keep winning, and happy to have some daylight between us and the melee.
I said if we're still in the top 2 after next Saturday then...
Happily take a draw on Saturday, but Newport probably need to go for the win so I'm hoping that will open up space and allow us to hit them on the break. Defeat wouldn't be a disaster, but it would take some of the pressure off.
