Feels like the bottom 3 are gone now, Burton are the lone one you think might still might have had a ghost of a hope, but they have a major bitch of a run-in.
Rotherham v us is the only game on this coming Tuesday, therefore lumping Tues and Sat fixtures together.
Don’t want to overplay today’s defeat to Wxm, but Tuesday’s game vs Rotherham is vital if we want to stay in with a sniff of the autos…but right now it looks like we are on a dire run of...
Another comment from the Wxm forum:
"I really don't think we will be able to stop Wycombe form scoring if we just play the low block and the CBs just bang the ball aimlessly down field every time we touch the ball."
um - yes, yes you will.
This is exactly the kind of tactic we struggle...
the reverse trash talk can only intensify from here.
It feels incredibly sulky and spoiled to be whining about the prospect of maybe having to stoop to the playoffs (albeit those are still far from guaranteed) when my pre-season prediction was an 8th-10th finish, but it would still feel a bit...
Loving this quote from the Wxm forum:
“We’ve lost our identity since all these new signings we’ve made. Smith looks a very capable signing but he should be playing with Fletcher, Palmer or Mullin, not Dogriguez.”
I’ll see your “lost our identity because we signed some players” and I’ll raise...
Another Six-Pointer Saturday.
Bolton v Stockport
Cambridge v Posh (game of the day, both a local derby AND a six-pointer)
Shrews v Burton
and what's that game at the bottom of the list...oh
great that Wxm were (apparently, according to their own fans) absolute wank tonight v Reading, but less...
0-0 in Reading Wxm is probably about as good as can be hoped for, but I’ve been cheered up by the bore draw for them so often and then all hopes are dashed on 94 minutes.
Even a draw for them is a psychological boost going into Sat, but I’d take it.
To be fair, I suppose once you’ve achieved the highest accolade in the game, you can understand why it may be hard to get the players up for the rest of the season.
Yup - officially gone, nice accolade that losing to the Gas is now considered the tipping point.
They have seriously underachieved though so it’s hard to argue against.
Well, I’ve never seen you play under Harris so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about, but personally I feel he’s probably a better relegation dogfight manager than a promotion one.
Probably I’m just basing that on the whole Gillingham experience though where their Yank investor came in...
Yeah but most weeks, we get the “oh great, Wxm are going to drop points…it’s 0-0…great…oh. Late goal. A-fucking-gain.”
I should say though, pretty much all of the key playoff contenders (County, Charlton, Bolton) are in frightening form, so I’m not ruling anything out right now, whoever isn’t...
Only half the league has a game on this time.
Will be hoping that Reading do us a favour after our incredibly indifferent showing at London Road today, they are certainly capable enough of the win on their day but can they stymie the curse of the Wxm 1-0?
I would say most of the other games...
We were absolute wank today against a very average Peterborough side, we probably didn’t deserve even the draw.
It’s easy to overreact to one poor performance, but it’s very much advantage Wxm if they continue on the path they’re on of grinding out results - we looked clueless, incoherent and...
nice 6-pointers for:
Barnsley v Blackpool (if we're counting the mid-table trophy)
Stockport v Charlton
Exeter v Shrews (David Wheeler w/ a stoppage time winner?)
We face a disappointingly resurgent Posh side at London Road, not sure what triggered their recent uptick but I very much hope the...
Yeah, I'd say that's fair.
No-one's 100% adrift yet at the bottom, but to state the obvious, the longer the current state of affairs goes on, the harder it gets for the dropzone teams to make up the gap.
Burton still looking like the most likely to pull it off, and they didn't look like a...
