Disappointing that stalybridge have gone down.. Good local non league club and decent ground. Hear they are also struggling financially so hope for the best with them.
Also hope Nantwich stay up, another local game for us if they do.
Exactly this.. Our team is more than competitive in the Npl Prem.. But they've set themselves up by paying bigger wages in these league, creating inflation for themselves.
Now they've realised it doesn't work and passed the cost to us, with some emotional blackmail to suit.
There's only so...
They've blamed the rising costs in football and used the 'we can stop losing money if we slash the wage bill and not be competitive'. Basically pushing it back to the fans because they needlessly spent a shit load just to win the counties league.
My view is they bit off more than they could...
Macc have announced our ST prices for next season. A whopping increase of 66% and will be £299 for an adult.. which is astronomical for the NPL.
The club have said that it’s down to running costs and sustainability, which I understand to a point. But needless to say our crowds will drop, which...
Fair shout about the pitch, I suppose it's just deal with it when or if the time comes. We have an owner now though who knows his onions, so I've no concerns about that.
That's the thing though, you're right.. The level is irrelevant.. Do I enjoy us smashing teams and playing good football in...
100% and we all saw it coming a mile off.
But what we have now is far better.. Our owner is class, and although Savage is annoying, he's 1000% committed. The town have bought into it too, and our crowds are bigger than ever.. 4k+ most home games.
It's quite nice to be massive at these...
Mate, for local games it's the best league we've ever been in.. Enjoyed this year far more then the counties league.
Hanley was always going to implode. We get alot of grief for our squad, but we pull 3-4k crowds. Hanley barely get 200.
Next season will be good, some old skool games. As you...
So far as expected.. Beating everyone and all the village teams hate us because we are so much bigger than them.. Promotion is nailed on again, could be champs next week of the Npl West. So we'll move up to tier 3 and one below the conf north.
To be honest it's been good, after decades of just...
Wasn't uncommon for Macc to release STs in January! Obvs there was a reason for that.. We were skint..
I do find it interesting looking at EFL prices though. Gives me an idea of how much mine will cost as we move back up.
Side topic.. What's the chances of Chester letting Wyll Stanway leave? Been very impressed with him, far better than the million pound loanee we had from Liverpool.
Just two more wins, or Leek to lose their game in hand on Tuesday, and we beat Trafford next week and we are up.
Same as last season the consistency of the tail end of the season has been brilliant.. Unbeaten since losing at Runcorn in November.
Bring on the Npl Prem.
