Oh I had absolutely no issue with the way Crewe set up. Stiffled us superbly. Doubled up on Connor Barrett, stifled Ryan Stirk - did an excellent job on really limiting us.
It was all the extra non-footballing stuff I was moaning about.
I mean Crewe were timewasting from the first whistle.
I've seen plenty of gamesmanship down here over the years, I don't mention half of it because it's the new norm - just today was another level of it. That and the ref being sold every time led to a very frustrating afternoon and a pretty...
I mean there's been plenty of Vale fans who come onto Walsall posts trying to stir shit too. Don't act like it's one way way. It's football, everyone's gonna do it.
We were crap today but that was pure footballing terrorism from Crewe. Ten minutes added on but should have been about 15 or 16 for the amount of time wasting they did.
Ref was abhorrent. Never seen anything quite like it.
Draw fair result though.
One of our best performances last season was the away game at Gresty Road. Absolutely played you off the park first 60 minutes, and still somehow managed to throw the game away. Was basically a template for how soft the underside of last seasons team was.
Fortunately it's only really Nathan Lowe that is in danger of being recalled. There is a higher chance of him staying than Draper last season though, as well as with our strong links to Stoke currently. Still could happen though if they want him to be tried at L1 level. We did have contingency...
Carlisle fans were great tonight.
I had reckoned that the level you lot was going on about how bad you were was probably a little hyperbolic, but jesus, that was a rough watch.
Strange moment in the second half after the third goal where you tried to play out, it got pressed and you guys...
First half you edged it, we were poor on the ball but solid. Did have what looked like a perfectly good goal chalked off though.
Not sure if it's us working you out or you not turning up for the second half, or a bit of both. Been one way traffic.
We're very counter-attack heavy. We're better when a team tries to dominate the ball and play out. Our possession stats under Sadler have been 40 or 30% consistently, during good form and bad form.
We struggle more when teams give us the ball and sit back, but have been slowly improving on that...
Jackson Smith, good keeper. Can flap a bit with crosses but a good shot stopper that's also good with his feet. Sort of typical League 2 goalie that's young enough to improve, hence the move to Barnsley. You'll like him I reckon if you get him.
