The standard of refereeing in League 1

The irony from last night is that our first goal was by Harness which would likely have been deemed a foul in majority of referees eyes!

Are Ipswich the real deal ?

I’d say yes you matched us first half, if not bettered us, until we scored and then we dominated the rest of the half and second half. Yes you did the double on us last season, but that was prior to and at the very start of the McKenna reign. It is early days and I don’t want to get carried...

Are Ipswich the real deal ?

When you have money from selling players, would you not reinvest to get out the league?

How much do you class as ‘throwing money around’?

The standard of refereeing in League 1

If the disallowed goal events hadn’t taken place, I would have no issue with the draw as Barnsley definitely earned it over the 90 minutes. Most Town fans would probably agree that the centre backs were sloppy at the back yesterday. With their second though, from the angle I sat at the other...

The standard of refereeing in League 1

The ref has linesmen of which one would have had a perfect angle to see that the arm coming round was so that Harness could get passed, rather than run into the defender. But linesmen don’t help referees anymore.

Speaks for itself. The ref was just generally poor. The players and fans could easily pressure him into a decision.

I haven’t checked it but I’ve seen a stat this morning, since McKenna came in we’ve had 16 clean sheets and conceded only 15! He’s really turned us around! 50% win ratio too.

Where did you get our figure from? The club said we sold our full allocation of 1648 https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2022/august/away-day-guide---burton-albion/

Such a contrasting performance to Saturday. Burns is vital for us. It didn’t help players playing in positions not suitable for them tonight! Burton knew how to scare us, pushed our CBs well into mistakes. They’re clearly one footed and that’s a massive problem for us if we’re not careful...

We don’t give 2500 to away fans, 2000 max is normally the allocation. A good point about many being on holiday, season ticket holders in our area weren’t there yesterday as they were on holiday and I know a few from work who would normally go but were on holiday too.

Another ‘curios’ fact for you, in the 31 home UEFA tournament games, we’ve never lost at home. This held the longest record for years, it may do again, and probably will plenty of times as I doubt we’ll be back for a while! We have lost one non-UEFA home game though, and I it’ll be interesting...

Christ! How come there’s that much restriction?! I haven’t been there yet, hoping to make it this year. Does the restriction affect the atmosphere or is the restriction all in one area of the ground?

Like I say we are losing capacity though. We can’t provide away fans the lower tier anymore for security reasons I believe (too close to the home fans), the corner seats were ripped out (presumably used to replace seats elsewhere in need of repair and these were used rather than get new ones)...

Attendance. Rounded up. Stadium is dropping in capacity though, probably only 29k now.

Gutted. Although it looks like 1 point gained after being behind, that is definitely 2 points missed. We looked shaky to begin with but improved massively second half.
