Have to take a draw to Scunny considering the state of things, but disappointing considering how we played in the first half. Tough month ahead but the playoffs are still on!
There's already been a Pompey one which was pretty bang on, but I can't resist procrastinating.
1. Overall has the first half of the season been a success for your club?
Undoubtedly - we're overachieving currently, with one of the youngest squads in the league. I still expect this season to...
Oh my, we shouldn't have lost that. Better team by far in the second half, despite the goal. Can see why Bradford are up there though - that was one of those results that promotion teams often get. But considering how we matched them there's reasons to be positive I guess..
Kyle Bennett could...
Absolutely outplayed today. Rubbish but just another reminder of the higher level we're now in and that we have to adapt, which I'm sure we will over time. Mid table is all we've got this season.
Ridiculous weather conditions too, the ball barely moved over the grass during the last 15!
That was the best first half we've had all season! We looked fluent and sharp, completely bossed MK and made our chances count. Second half we stepped down a gear, but they're all really good signs, especially with our injury list as it is. Hawkins is getting better with every game, he looks...
You'd think having the 4/5 first teamers currently out returning in the next few weeks will improve us dramatically.. but we're definitely not Top 6 material at this stage.
Gillingham (A) - L
MK Dons (H) - W
Doncaster (A) - W
Blackburn (A) - L
Bradford (H) - L
Till our midfield/defence is sorted, the inconsistency keeps up. I'd like to think we could beat Gillingham but we'll probably be playing a striker as a centre back so
Well we got three wins but not 11 points. We are definitely in that tricky period, but it's more down to a developing injury crisis than a lack of chemistry at this point. We have one fit centre back. LWLWLWL - inconsistency has ruled our season so far!
Yeah a small section of our fans (the usual suspects..) were an embarrassment today. Not helped by the equally idiotic couple of fans in the away end but there's no excuse for it whatsoever. Not to mention the isolated booing of Talbot which was equally ridiculous, even though he was having a...
Awful. Was actually surprised we scored. Talbot colliding with and knocking out Thompson was just ridiculous.. a day to forget with us.
Got pretty feisty too - lots of posturing/coin throwing/shit chatting going on behind the Milton End after the game and now tons of police cars heading into town
Stats can be skewed, but it's worth mentioning that for the League 2 version of this last year, we were at the top of pretty much every chart for most of the season, even though we only really broke into the automatic places in the last few games, and occupied top spot for less than 90 minutes...
