Thought Ellis was solid - better organiser, communicator and positionally than Clough and decent in the air - but not great with the ball at his feet and seemed to play for the foul a bit too much for my liking (like at Lincoln when it didn't come off and Angol scored). I also don't think he was...
Top fella is Wedge. Runs himself into the ground. Not the most refined footballer but has enough quality and will never let you down. Also great off the pitch with fans and always one of the first to volunteer for school visits, etc..
Was sad to see him leave, but top end Conference is probably...
Yep always looked a handful when I saw him. A nightmare for centre-backs in the air as he really attacks the ball. Wished we'd gone in for him mid-season (although Woking would have been unlikely to sell at that stage) instead of the supposedly similar type of player that we ended up with -...
Agreed. If you look back at the goals we conceded this season, a stupid number are from attacks down our left, he just seemed out of his depth defensively and was hit and miss going fwd.
Ironically it was Noble's mistake in passing it back to Arnold, whose blocked shot fell to Woodyard for the goal and the start of our season slide.
But besides that mistake he has been our best player by mile.
I'd have all three in my TOTS.
Honestly don't know how he would get into our midfield (even off the bench) ahead of Noble, Traore, Carter, Sinclair, Robert, Kelly, KMB, Frear. And remember Chemlal, whatever happened to him, he was on fire earlier in the season.
Only to the deluded. Can finish But has gone off the boil and I doesn't offer much else if he's not scoring (i.e. minimal interplay with midfield, holding up ball, workrate average compared to Doidge), plus got a new striker in. Also Kieffer Moore seems to have found form on loan, so probably...
Well that went a little pear-shaped. 7/15 in the end. My assessment of how I expected the games to play out was pretty spot on, just some of the final results were wrong.
Oh well, let's see if Cooper can turn it around.
Dominant first half, TRFC chasing shadows, they score from their only real chance of the half. 2nd half Mellon makes the smart switch to match our midfield diamond and gives Traore and Noble at the top and bottom of said diamond no time on the ball and TRFC starting to win possession and pass it...
I think the majority of people on this forum would have voted for Trump. Everyone gets excitable over lame, baiting posts - seriously take a look back at the last 10 or so posts. Very few seem to engage and talk about the games, the tactics, the selections, the performances. C'mon people were...
Yeah he was decent today. Must have spent the offseason in the gym I think, looked massive but has a great engine.
You guys were lucky, but how many times can we fail to beat top 6 teams.
Well quite the turn-around. Our best attacking players - Noble, KMB - were not at their best for some reason. Wouldn't say it was Lincoln's high pressing game particularly (which was impressive and all energy for 90mins - particularly the 2nd 45) they just seemed off the boil. Thought we were...
Damn auto-correct! Woodyard has look solid in the games I've seen him play last year and this, doesn't make mistakes, reads the game pretty well, but nothing that has made him stand out.
I guess the proof will be in the pudding tomorrow.
