I'll be honest in saying a couple of seasons out of League Two has sent me out of the loop a bit. Who would people say are the most likely to be top goal scorer?
I assumed Akinde and Collins were probably the big hitters. But unsure of who people have signed.
If we are talking with a bit of realism.. Then Morsy. He was the world's biggest crutch with what he could do in the midfield. Looked championship standard in good sides, and seemed to up in when he was around utter crap.
However, for nostalgia, the idea of prime Lester and O'Grady up front is...
Awesome signing. By all intents and purposes, we have a good attacking and defensive set up. Tonne of League One experience across the back line. And 3 strikers in O'Grady who is too good for here, Dennis who got double figures in League One, and Ugwa who smashed the conference in a poor Woking...
Great win.
I think a major concern for this season was that we'd be totally out of our depth, like Yeovil last season. However, we're very much not that. Assuming that Saunders is allowed to get one more defender in, and we keep Morsy until at least January, then I think we will have little...
No idea what will happen.
Went in to Barnsley worrying about us rolling over, and we won.
Went in to United thinking we could push them close, and they ended up with a comfortable scoreline.
Instinct says either a defeat or sneaking a draw.
Well done United.
Disappointed. But on a day where there wasn't much between the teams, it was a case of Adams having a blinder whilst we're still papering over cracks at full back at midfield. We were unlucky at times, but sometimes it doesn't happen.
Onwards and upwards.
Ps. Did you see...
For one, no where do I say we're on their level, if anything, I describe us as being their small town lessers with something to prove - you thick fuck.
For another, I didn't say it didn't mean owt to us. I merely said that it currently meant more to you as you had more to prove - once again...
Notts and us are always gonna be their cup final in current times. A rivalry takes more significance when one side has something to prove, or it deemed as the 'weaker'. Mansfield had spent a few years under County, so had something to prove. Mansfield had been in non league for a couple of years...
Didn't post for either of the previous games, i'll make this my first (sods law says we lose now).
I have no idea what to expect. I keep trying to decide whether i'm feeling optimistic or realistic.
Pro's:
A lot of our side handled themselves at Bramall Lane last season, so the environment...
What's the back story behind burys backers? There seemed some mystery when I checked the league 2 page last season. Genuinely out of the loop with this.
I'll have a go.
Assuming Saunders will play 4-4-2, and after taking in to consideration what players he has picked out as 'projects', i'd go for this.
Lee
Darikwa Evatt Hird Talbot
Ariyibi Morsy Banks Clucas
Gnando Ebanks-Blake
Subs: Chapman, Raglan, Jones, Humphreys, Gardner, Harrison, Mani...
For people that understand why we're quick selling anyone for a half decent fee, it's been well known for a while that Dave Allen has wanted out. At the start of this season I believe that we were in 6 million pounds of debt, all to him. So its widely thought that he's wanting to get the debt...
But by saying we were so close to 12th, you were hinting that we should've thanked our 4 leaved clovers that we'd scraped that place - due to a Bradford defender.. Despite us having a big lead going in to the final two games, where we had Bristol and United, and knowing we were already in it...
Or..
And bear with me here, cos it's a crazy thought.
We all have near misses and lucky breaks, but in the end over 46 games the table doesn't lie - and Bradford are the 7th best team in the league, whilst chesterfield are the 6th.
For the record, I don't think we'll go down, but it won't be pretty. It's not the Blackpool meltdown that people are making it out to be. It's just gutting in comparison to the season we've just had, that's all.
I think he'll have us low midtable, playing meh 'hard to beat' football. Even if we...
