Vale have been very disappointing in both games against us this season. Whether that is due to us snuffing out any threat due to our style of play I'm not sure. We were efficient today and took our chances, we didn't need to be great.
Its nice to put that 7-1 thrashing to the back of our minds...
To keep in the general feel good aspect to this fixture, juz woofed darn us thray oatcakes wi chayse n bacon and copious dollop of Daddies sauce on no mither, gerrin picked up in bite 20 minutes hopefully en route to the Leopard in Boslem.
Enjoy the game all and safe journey to and fro to every one.
If any body has read my tale of an away day in Mexborough in 1974/5 season when my head butted fists, knees and Doc martens boots all day then you will be surprised that there is a humerous part 2 to this tale. The original match was an FA Trophy tie, the replay should have been in mid week but...
Seeing this has turned into a thread on oatcakes(absolutely no complaints from me), I can remember buying some in Benidorm !
My kids who are all in their 20's now grew up in Burton on Trent but all were raised on the mana from heaven oatcake. I still visit Silverdale regularly and always stock...
Cheers for the info about the scran, might have to nip into Oatcake Annies up Fenton on the way ! Will defo bring over a 1000.
Walsall used to be in Staffordshire(it wer when I werra lad) but now its West midlands so Burton, Vale and the Potters are the only football league clubs in the county...
Just as an extra, Burton Albion have today announced that season tickets prices for next season will be frozen at this seasons prices. That's not bad at all seeing as they were frozen last season too.
We could theoretically be watching us in the championship next season at the same cost of...
Interesting analysis from the Vale faithful, bits of truth in most of it too. Having lived in Hanley, Audley and Silverdale I'm well versed with the area and the club. We have been dreadful on every visit to Vale Park. Not expecting that this time though but you never know !
I expect us to get...
Missed the game with flu but mates tell me we played really well today and handled the pressure. 2 great strikes from Duffy and we should have scored more was the consensus of opinion. Good three points extending our lead to 6 points from Wigan and maintaining a nine point gap to third place...
We are due a win against Fleetwood, I am expecting a really tough game as Fleetwood have been doing well recently and made a couple of useful signings. The pressure is on and hope they can handle it tomorrow. Looks like I'm going to miss my 1st home game of the season as I'm laid up with flu'.
I actually think the pressure is getting to us. Arguably the smallest team in the league and probably one of the lowest budgets is starting to tell. Our squad is very small, we need a couple of experienced players in on loan to ease the load a little as our players are looking very tired.
No idea what will happen with Trevor Kettle in charge, would be happy with 11 players still on the pitch at the end.
If we get off to a reasonable instead of sluggish start as in the previous 3 away games then I think we might get something from tonights game.
3 points would be massive for us...
Maintained our advantage despite resting players today, one game less for every one to play. I think 5 or 6 wins from our remaining fixtures and we are up !
