Pay no attention to GTFC fish he is probably still sulking from the 5-0 tonking we gave them in our first home game in the National league a few years ago. First hurdle overcome with our win at Hemel last night now off to Dartford on Sunday. Win that and I really will start believing we can...
So we made the play offs with a completely new squad mainly from the lower leagues. Would have taken mid table before the season started so am well chuffed to finish 6th. Can we win the play offs? well stranger things have happened in football.
Dont know where to begin. 1st half Whitehawk were poor but we find ourselves a goal down due to them given a penalty that never was and another blooper from our keeper. We come out 2nd half all guns blazing and its 2-2 with us pressing for a 3rd before our keeper goes awol again and we are 3-2...
Two somewhat fortunate wins in a row puts us back in play off contention with 3 home games v Whitehawk, Oxford City and Gloucester and an away trip to Truro. Win any 3 of those and that should be enough for us to finish 6th or 7th.
Won 4-0 and could and should have won by more, although East Thurrock were probably the better side in the first 20mins.
When we scored our first they seemed to lack concentration and we punished them with 2 goals in 2mins.
2nd half we were all over them and should have scored more. Still not...
Even closer after the Boxing day games. Dartford top on 42pts then just 3pts between 2nd and 8th. No idea who will be up there at the end of the season, just hope we can continue our first half of season form and be involved in the play offs.
We were very average 1st half against a lively Cray side, can see why they are doing well in the Bostik league. 2nd half we pulled our socks up and inthe end could have scored more. A much needed 5k in the bank and hopefully another home draw in the 1st round.
Top of the league and top scorers as well. Was just hoping to consolidate in the league this season, but there is a new revitalised Braintree after last seasons relegation now we have a new young manager and a squad of hungry young players. The future looks bright, its ORANGE & BLUE!
Scored in the 1st minute yesterday, but then went on the defensive for most of the 1st half against a spirited Bognor side who looked better than their league position suggests. Our manager changed things around for the 2nd half and we were much brighter and when we scored again in the 53rd...
Ever been to a game where the opposition are awarded 3 penalties? No, then you should have been at our game today to witness the most inept referee to ever set foot on a pitch.
Lost 2-1 at home to Southend Manor (whoever they are) with a mix of reserves and academy players.
No longer interested in these tin pot cups as bigger fish to fry in the league.
Say we are top of the league, say we are top of the league. New manager and a completely new team. Not one of last seasons sh#te left. Can we return to the National league? Keep our form going and who knows.
We spent over 30K on drainage before the start of 2016/17 season and not had one postponement since. Unfortunately we were relegated but going well at the moment and hoping for a swift retutn.
Conceded early but once we got used to Oxfords awful 3g pitch were deserved winners and should have won by more. Re their pitch, every time the ball bounced or was kicked lumps of black crap flew into the air. Anyone got an explanation for it or are they all like that in this league?
Have to agree with you, even we gave Jamie Day 12 games last season before he went. Trouble was we ended up with a clown in charge and went down anyway. Sometimes better the devil you know than out of the frying pan into the fire.
We were awesome today, hit the woodwork twice and their keeper made 2 unbelievable saves.
Keep this up and we will be there or thereabouts this season. Playoffs a real possibility.
Not at our best today, 3 out injured but still got the better of a mediocre Hampton outfit. Away to Whitehawk next Saturday and then a stiff test at home to St.Albans bank holiday Monday.
