Well, we got our three points, but Watford did too to secure their own promotion. That means the title isn't ours just yet, but being five points clear with two games left means it's all but inevitable now.
Well, it's not exactly a conventional finish, but Quintilla proves that you have to shoot to score. That's one the QPR keeper won't want to be seeing again, that's for sure.
Now, if Millwall could do us a favour and get an equaliser against Watford, that would be nice.
EDIT: And Aarons with...
I just hope now that this isn't swept under the rug and forgotten without consequence now that it has fallen apart. The big clubs need to be held accountable for even attempting this selfish power grab. Whether that's through points deductions, kicking them out regardless or banning their...
Maybe I'm just still a bit scarred by how awful we were last year against teams who play like Watford and am placing too much value on a performance from a team who partied hard at the weekend.
Guess we just have to bounce back again, win our last three and then worry about what comes next...
Deserved three points for Watford, who we simply cannot beat under Farke. Completely dominated our hungover side from start to finish, in a fashion depressingly reminiscent of a lot of games of our relegation campaign last year.
I think I know which team looks better equipped to survive in the...
This actually makes me remember that our form dropped off massively in the final five or so games of our last promotion season too, as well as the farce that was Project Restart for us last year. We seem to not end seasons very well under Farke for whatever reason.
It's not really too surprising after the weekend hangover, but it will certainly be disappointing and concerning (when looking to next season) to have lost all four matches against the teams who came down with us. Another stark reminder that we've got loads to do to have a chance of survival...
That's been coming. We've been second best throughout and haven't really produced much. The title race is now about to get very interesting, as the way this has gone so far you can tell we're not going to come back from this and will be losing our second game in a row now.
Dowell offering...
Done very well to have gone in level at half-time here. We've had a decent spell here and there, but Watford have produced by far the best chances and really should have scored by now. That half perfectly shows why we went to get Giannoulis in rather than persist with Quintilla; he's good going...
Watford absolutely dominant so far and should be at least two up already. Quintilla not handling Sarr well at all, and it's all coming down that Watford right wing so far.
Getting some real flashbacks to our final few games of our time in the Premier League last year. They're far more athletic...
Only change in the end is the enforced one of Quintilla stepping in for Giannoulis. The big question will be what sort of condition everyone is in after partying hard on Saturday and after several suffered knocks. Both teams looking to bounce back after weekend losses.
Big test of how far we've...
Our appeal against Giannoulis' red card has been rejected, so he'll miss all but the final league game of the season now. That should see Quintilla and/or Sorensen deputising there for the next three games.
Injury doubts over Hanley, Pukki and Cantwell ahead of tomorrow night's game, as well as questions of how much the celebrations on Saturday will have impacted our preparations going into this game.
Beating Watford would secure the title, but I'd be okay with a draw at this point. That would...
In other news, looks like whoever gets promoted alongside us this season will get promoted into a 14-team Premier League without the big six if everything about this European Super League thing is true.
I'm shocked that this seems to be actually happening. I know it's been threatened for a...
Well, in any event, we can write last night off as one of those days at this point; happens to everyone at some point or other. A win on Tuesday night would be enough to secure the title, and even a draw would more or less guarantee it.
No surprise to see Sheffield United make their return to...
At least this game doesn't matter for us now, I suppose, but I imagine we'll be appealing the sending off regardless. Also helps we took the lead first, as it forces the pressure entirely onto Bournemouth to get something out of this and go on the offensive. Chances to be taken on the counter...
Absolute joke of a red card decision there. Both players going for the ball, no intent whatsoever. But of course, because Pearson has rolled around like he's been shot, the card is given. Absolute cheat of a player and an incompetent referee to so easily fall for it.
Completely ruins the game...
As expected, another unchanged XI for us tonight as we look to move a step closer to the title. We lost to Bournemouth in the reverse fixture early in the season, so it would be good to get one over them here and keep them looking over their shoulders in the play-off race.
I guess no one besides ourselves wants to go up, based on those results today. Now that the immediate return to the Premier League has been secured, time to get three points tonight so we can secure the title with a win in midweek.
