I miss Devon Lad. He was the star of the show on here in the summer of 2022 with talk of the Exeter youth team being good enough to walk the league, let alone the first team. Disappeared without trace when reality hit, sadly.
Huge 3 points today against an in form Reading. They had plenty of the ball and created some half chances first half. However, we are notoriously slow starters and the second half was convincing stuff with a couple of excellent goals from Pack and Lang.
6 more wins from 12 should get us home...
As expected, it was yet another hamstring tear for Tom Lowery on Tuesday night. This is a recurring injury for him and usually means 3-4 months out so he can join the other 6 season-enders. It's starting to look like a promising career will be ending prematurely for him which is a real shame...
The January window is really tough. Pretty sure we would have struggled to land players like Lang and Moxon ordinarily but I'm sure they saw the possibility of Championship football next season and it worked out.
The club have definitely gambled with the playing budget but our league position...
I think the only real solution is to reduce the number of games, but that's unlikely to ever happen. I'd say the majority of injuries are caused by overwork of muscles and joints.
Also, I reckon we see a lot of injuries particularly at this level because League One contains plenty of players...
I'm not so sure. Last season was a bit of a freak in terms of points and everyone has repeatedly said that the teams at the top this season aren't as good as Plymouth, Ipswich and Wednesday were.
In fact, 90 points has been good enough in 9 out of the last 10 completed seasons. I reckon it will...
It's the time of year when you start to focus on other teams' fixtures as well as your own.
Bolton have what looks like a comfortable 3 points at home to Charlton. I fear Nathan Jones may still be a way off getting his ideas across.
Not happy about it but I'll be rooting for SteveEvansanage...
We've had quite a few games like tonight's where we look less than impressive first half, only to come alive and win the game.
Cambridge were unlucky to go in just level at half time. We really upped the pressure second half though and the game was done after Kamara's superb third.
Sad to see...
Agreed. I think Moore is a cracking appointment for Vale. I'd back him to avoid relegation and get Vale up the table next season.
My only worry would be him potentially walking away if he does well and a bigger fish comes in, like when he was at Donny. That's a long way off though.
We have a decent record against Cambridge over the years. Mousinho might be rotating a few players this evening as I'm sure he's keen to avoid any more injuries to add to the long list.
It's all about results at this time of year. I'm going for another 1-0 with the winner coming from bench...
