1-1 at half-time. Good half mainly by Swansea. The front 3 of Celina, McBrune & McKay is quality and should score loads of goals between them. The goal was thanks to the 3 of them (great technique by McKay especially).
Bielsa made a tactical switch just before the half-hour but it didn't change...
Last few games this evening. Freiburg a last-gasp equaliser and penalties to get past Cottbus while it's still goalless between Fürth and Dortmund with less than half an hour to go.
Would be fun to see Dortmund knocked out.
I wouldn't call Iceland a minnow a decade or two back. I would have ranked them among the likes of, say, Finland. Not bottom of a group, just 4th or 5th.
It's kicked off today and some really good games. Juve had to work for their win at Chievo. They won 3-2 after being 1-2 down. In the other game, Napoli came back from 0-1 down to win 2-1 in Rome against Lazio. Some really nice stuff played by Hamsik, Allan, Callejon et al.
The Genoa sides had...
Emery went deep in the second half with Torreira replacing the ineffective Xhaka. Arsenal were playing much closer to their goal which made it harder for Chelsea to create chances. Chelsea scored from one of the only opportunities of the half really. Good work by Hazard. The goal looks avoidable...
I'm not sure if the actual central defenders are to blame in this half. For Arsenal, I reckon Mustafi and Sokratis (one of them is shit and the other one is slow) were not protected enough by Xhaka (arguably the worst player on the pitch) and Guendouzi (who's done alright given his inexperience)...
The point of the winter break is to happen halfway through the season not once three quarters of the games have already been played!
I suppose the winter break will come just before the CL/EL 1st KO stage ties. Pretty sure non-English sides will complain that this gives advantage to Prem clubs...
Less than average game. Cardiff don't have much about them anywhere on the pitch (the CB-pairing isn't reassuring at all) and Newcastle aren't doing much despite having better players. It's impressive how Shelvey went from having a great start to having a god awful half. His corners are a...
Is it? Looked a rather easy opposition on paper and they have looked to make hard work of a not so difficult task (just like against Aberdeen).
Saying this, Burnley remain hard to beat so the tie against Olympiakos will be interesting.
