    Europa League 2018/19

Still goalless at the Turf. Extra-time beckons.

    Champions League 2018/19

I don't think anyone reasonable has claimed for quite some time now. Play-off draw as underwhelming as ever.

PL shit that doesn't need it's own thread.

You certainly bring much welcome bickering to the Prem forum.

Match Day Liverpool v West Ham, Sunday 12 August 13:30

It requires either strong technical ability (close control, making passes in very small areas) or very good aerial prowess. I doubt either player is going to help you with those. It's always hard to play against a brick wall. Better get you used to it I say.

Match Day Liverpool v West Ham, Sunday 12 August 13:30

Don't mean to sound a dick or wanting to take this thread off topic from the soup discussion but it's becoming harder and harder to watch Liverpool for 90 minutes; the games are over at half-time. I don't really object to sides playing catenaccio against them these days (à la Swansea and Utd...

Are we taking members from other forums? Certainly doesn't seem that way nowadays but good news if we are!

    Bevvy thread

Having already been on vacation this year (Russia for 2 weeks) I decided (actually was forced to for financial reasons) to stay at home for 3 weeks and during those 3 weeks I intend to go a full 2 weeks off the wagon in order to get my belly in shape. Been a week today and not missing the actual...

    Champions League 2018/19

Does anyone know why the likes of Valencia, Dortmund, Lyon, Inter and Liverpool have qualified directly for the CL proper this season? Is it a one-off or do the big leagues just have a bye from the play-offs nowadays?

    Stickied German Football

I have no doubt we'll be rubbish in tournaments to come: Deschamps is still the coach. He's walking in Löw's footsteps. On purpose.

You can take that game if you want. Us world champions don't make much effort against small-timers who bowed out in the group stage.

You switched off at 2-0? Funny, I switched the game on at that point. Game over of course but I wasn't expecting much. Nor am I expecting a title race or anything. I just hope someone has the quality to be a decent runner-up to Bayern. Haven't gone through the squads just yet (the Buli only...

Match Day Arsenal v Man City, Sunday 12 August 16:00

No one is mentionning Özil? I suppose that the less said about his performance the better. Just don't understand why Unai took off Ramsey and not him.

Match Day Arsenal v Man City, Sunday 12 August 16:00

Why on earth did Arsenal spend loads on Leno if it is to sit him on the bench? No offense but Cech needs to let go. Leno is a more than able goalie and should be given his chance. A very Wenger decision by Unai. Also, Lichtsteiner? It reminds me of Wenger calling back Mickäel Sylvestre from...

Match Day Wolves v Everton, Saturday 11 August 17:30

Swan and Wolf going at it I see. Also thought Wolves should have done better in the second half against a 10 man Everton. Game was a bit off until Richarlison's second and fingers must be pointed at the hosts for that. They're at home and are a man up. Pickford should have been tested more than...

Match Day Huddersfield v Chelsea, Saturday 11 August 15:00

Chelsea lead 2-0 at half-time. They started on top with Huddersfield playing very deep with a 532. After 20 minutes the hosts started to get out more and the full-backs became wing-backs but Chelsea scored two goals not against the run of play but almost. A clever volley by Kanté from a Willian...
