I'd be inclined to agree with that. We've got all the endeavour in the world but, despite the fact that we've scored the most out of the bottom 10 teams in the table I don't believe we've got the goals in us to keep us out of the battle. Most of our goals have come from midfield with one coming...
We've got Jamie Ward in on a season long loan. Always liked him when I've seen him play but I gather he's had injury problems? Either way Cloughie definitely "getting the band back together" so to speak
I saw that tweet. They've got no idea what they're getting into by poking supporters with that stick. You're right that it's a mess but idiotic social media shite like that gives it the potential to make things a whole lot messier.
I remember how well he did for you and I know how highly thought of he still is at Derby. I think it's fair to say we won't get "that" player (happy to be proved wrong but 4 years out and making a comeback at 33 is a big ask) but I'm still thrilled to have him at Burton for what he brings off...
Wow. It sounds like we were hanging on a bit at the end but a great night for the club. First clean sheet of the season as well after letting so many goals in since the season started. Got a feeling the return at the iPro in Jan will be a totally different story but I'll enjoy this run while it...
Tom Flanagan, the lad who prompted me to start this thread, has today received his first call up to the Northern Ireland squad based on his start to the season  After the grief he's had off our lot I'm absolutely made up for the kid.
What were the alternatives though? If we made it general sale from the off then you end up with 2000 Burton supporters and nearly 5000 away fans due to our small supporter base and their massive one. There had to be a restriction on home ticket sales to protect our supporters otherwise you...
Meh. I'm on nights. Would've been there if it hadn't been moved. Couldn't swap shifts at such short notice. I hate Sky (apart from the money we're getting).
Don't get the manufactured rivalry myself either. I obviously want us to win because we need the points, the locality makes it a big game...
In all fairness to us we made more changes than Liverpool, four players were making their first starts of the season and we were playing a left back at centre half, a central midfielder up top and had that clown Bywater in goal. That error for Liverpool's 2nd was a carbon copy of a fuck up he...
Ah right. History definitely repeating itself then.
To be fair to the lad he came on as sub on Tuesday night and played a part in the third goal. Not entirely sure he's got much of a future here now beyond being a squad player. As I said I like him but we really can't afford things like this...
Superb night at the Pirelli. Did not expect that result at all. Obviously Wednesday not having Lees or Forestieri in their line up gave us a bit of an advantage but I really don't want to take anything away from how hard we worked to get the result.
As predicted, really close game. Apart for...
It's a cliche but the first goal will be massive tomorrow night. If Wednesday score it then we'll have to come out and try and break down their brick wall defence, something I don't fancy us being very successful at doing. If we get it then I'd like to think we'll have learned from the mistakes...
Cheers lads. You've reaffirmed my faith in football supporters in general. Unfortunately what Ciderhead said about Liam Fontaine is exactly what I can see happening with Flanagan. I saw him leaving the ground after the game and he looked distraught. I just hope Cloughie doesn't continue to pick...
...and/or cheering a players substitution. Is it ever acceptable?
Bit of back story. There's a lad plays for us, Tom Flanagan, 24 years old, never really been a supporters favourite because of the deadly combination of taking a players spot who the supporters loved due to injury/Cloughie bust...
The set up of the Pirelli is ideal for creating an intimidating atmosphere but the problem is we've just not got that type of support. 75% of the west stand and the popside are stood with their arms folded and of the "give me something to cheer about and I'll cheer" variety. The small pocket of...
I don't think they were ironic. He had a black mark put against his name the second Cloughie gave him the no.2 shirt. There were a group of lads near me in the west stand who were slating him from the start. I thought he had a fairly decent first half if I'm honest. We did look better when Lucas...
Worse than I thought as it happens. 4579. Absolutely shocking but proves that the people of Burton don't give a fuck about the football club. I appreciate you thinking that you might not be as big a draw as other clubs but it was our first home game in this league. After STH's and away fans...
2-2 draw. 5597 attendance. If the Bristol City supporters are disappointed they'll only just sell their allocation for this one, consider the fact we won't even have been able to sell 3000 general sale tickets for one of the biggest days in the club's history.
Anyway...really looking forward...
The irony being all three August home games are on sale and none have sold out, the first two nowhere near as I understand it. Basically 1400 away tickets have (or will) be snapped up and we'll struggle to sell roughly 2000 general sale home tickets all season bar probably the Derby, Villa and...
