You can do it by trying to save the botchling maybe? You should have some autosaves from a bit further back. Do some sidequests, but make sure you do main quests before you become overlevelled (5+ levels over recommended quest level) otherwise you get literally 2 xp

Yeah no decision is going to stop you finishing the game, but they do have some 'weight' behind them (good example is 'the whispering hillock' quest). Truthfully there aren't any genuine 'incorrect' decisions, just that the decision I made had consequences that I didn't want.
