We got about £400k for an out of contract player in the summer and we sold Nick Powell for about £4m when he'd only played in League Two in 2012. It's not that unlikely that someone would spent 7 figures on a League Two player.

Quite a few League Two players have been sold for over a million over the years. Not seen much of Dobra so I can't comment on whether he'd be worth it, but it's not that outlandish.

Well it isn't if that player doesn't exist. There's about 16 clubs in this league with bigger budgets than us and none of them have managed to get a centre back better than Mickey Demetriou so I wouldn't fancy our chances. £300k is not enough money if it costs us promotion.

Yeah, he came from Cambridge. I don't think he's particularly injury prone but he did have a spell out earlier in the season. I think this one was a contact injury on a shocking pitch so probably could have happened to anyone.

I am feeling pretty positive about Crewe. As an attacking force, we're still very much a work in progress - when it clicks, we look great, but I'd like to see it click a bit more often. However, we're so resilient as a team (not at all typical of Crewe teams...) and we're grinding out results...

O'Riordan is a done deal. I really don't think he'll be costing us much and Blackburn won't be in a position to make any demands about playing time, so it's a bit of a no-brainer, should work out for all parties.

He's a funny one, he was mostly fairly rubbish in his first season (except for a few games where he played as an emergency centre back) and I think most Alex fans would have happily got rid at the end of last season. Cooke was excellent when we had him on loan from Middlesbrough and I think we were all disappointed that he didn't sign for us when he moved on from Boro. It's still a surprise that his career has only really gone downhill since.
