about the only good thing about the u-21 sides in this cup is the ability to say a few years later that you saw some kid play who turned into a 1st team regular and/or international. Garnacho (and Pellistri) played for United's u-21 team when we played them at home a few seasons back.

I wouldn't say we were poor, we pretty much nullified Crewe's attacking threat - even when they hit the woodwork it was never going in. After we scored from a corner (that was well whipped in by Mahoney), we didn't at any time look like we wouldn't win.

dunno if i missed it being mentioned, but Chris Stokes signed for us on Monday - initially until January.

James Chester has signed for Salford after turning down a deal with us. Probably explains why Salford let Theo Vassell move to us. The "swap" probably suits both teams and players. We look to be moving to a back 4 from a back 5 and Chester hasn't the pace (any more) to be one of 2 centre backs...

You're a bit defensive Jimmy, but the 2 issues you mentioned probably explain that. There isn't a team here that's more disliked than Bolton - so whoever you support you'll be fine. We're generally a big dysfunctional family on here, sometimes we get along and other times we bicker and argue...

Poor fella only retired from test cricket last week - so has probably only just discovered football - hence why he supports Bolton and posts on the wrong forum.

he's a quick and strong attacking full back. started well for us last season before getting nobbled by an MK Dons thug in late October which kept him out for most of the season. Fully recovered now.

No idea what he's like - and there's no Salford fans to ask.....
