0-0 in Reading Wxm is probably about as good as can be hoped for, but I’ve been cheered up by the bore draw for them so often and then all hopes are dashed on 94 minutes. Even a draw for them is a psychological boost going into Sat, but I’d take it.

Is it time for a 'Managerial Merry go round' thread?

To be fair, I suppose once you’ve achieved the highest accolade in the game, you can understand why it may be hard to get the players up for the rest of the season.

Is it time for a 'Managerial Merry go round' thread?

Yup - officially gone, nice accolade that losing to the Gas is now considered the tipping point. They have seriously underachieved though so it’s hard to argue against.

Well, I’ve never seen you play under Harris so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about, but personally I feel he’s probably a better relegation dogfight manager than a promotion one. Probably I’m just basing that on the whole Gillingham experience though where their Yank investor came in...

    Saturday 8 March fixtures

Yeah but most weeks, we get the “oh great, Wxm are going to drop points…it’s 0-0…great…oh. Late goal. A-fucking-gain.” I should say though, pretty much all of the key playoff contenders (County, Charlton, Bolton) are in frightening form, so I’m not ruling anything out right now, whoever isn’t...

    Tuesday 11 March fixtures

Only half the league has a game on this time. Will be hoping that Reading do us a favour after our incredibly indifferent showing at London Road today, they are certainly capable enough of the win on their day but can they stymie the curse of the Wxm 1-0? I would say most of the other games...

    2025 relegation dogfight thread

Not good news for the bottom 4 as a gap to safety is starting to open up, and those immediately above the relegation zone did OK today.

    Saturday 8 March fixtures

We were absolute wank today against a very average Peterborough side, we probably didn’t deserve even the draw. It’s easy to overreact to one poor performance, but it’s very much advantage Wxm if they continue on the path they’re on of grinding out results - we looked clueless, incoherent and...

    Saturday 8 March fixtures

nice 6-pointers for: Barnsley v Blackpool (if we're counting the mid-table trophy) Stockport v Charlton Exeter v Shrews (David Wheeler w/ a stoppage time winner?) We face a disappointingly resurgent Posh side at London Road, not sure what triggered their recent uptick but I very much hope the...

    2025 relegation dogfight thread

Yeah, I'd say that's fair. No-one's 100% adrift yet at the bottom, but to state the obvious, the longer the current state of affairs goes on, the harder it gets for the dropzone teams to make up the gap. Burton still looking like the most likely to pull it off, and they didn't look like a...

    2025 promotion thread

Vital win for us tonight to keep us in the auto spots by the skin of our teeth, wish Wxm would fuck off with their late 1-0s but we are where we are, and if nothing else it keeps the tension building up to our home game vs them on 15th March.

    Tuesday 4 March fixtures

Burton looked decent in terms of some of their possession play, but yes, seemingly precious little finishing threat, a couple of decent chances just got blazed over the bar. Awful comedy OG from Armer as well, I said you didn't have a finishing threat, well you did, but at the wrong end. Great...

    Tuesday 4 March fixtures

One-way traffic for the first 30 mins tonight v Burton, but in fairness to them they came back into it for the last part of the first half, so we have to stay right on top of this otherwise they could get a foot back in the game. Don't think this will end 1-0.

This is like the reverse trash talk forum, surely everyone can’t all lose at once, but you wouldn’t know it from here…

Is it time for a 'Managerial Merry go round' thread?

Pretty much this, but literally any managerial job in the EFL will get a ton of applicants just because of how few jobs there are vs the number of people who want to manage. But the quality of candidate they can attract may be tempered by the finances available (which would of course have just...

Big result for Charlton today. The race for that last playoff spot is seriously tight.

    Tuesday 4 March fixtures

A full set of midweek fixtures to chew on. Less red-hot six pointer action than today’s fixtures, but Shrews v Brovers obviously draws the eye at the arse end of the table, with the Gas facing the tantalising prospect of dropping into the bottom four if they lose and Burton win. Speaking of us...
