I know it won't be a suprise to anyone to hear that China is polluted, but these are 2 photos I took over the weekend when I was in Guangzhou. 48 hours apart...

    Scottish fitba!

Difficult to call. We've been hit and miss all season (understatement) but I think with McCall in charge we've gained a little bit of steel and discipline in the team, with the ability to grind out a result now. Vuckic is our only real quality player (thanks Mike Ashley) who can open teams up...

    The Advice Thread

It's all come to a head as he bumped into my sister on a night out in Glasgow and she mentioned to me that he's really hoping I can attend!:doh:

^ Thanks chaps. What concerns me a little is that I think they really expect me to attend. There's no "we really want you to be there, but we can totally understand if you can't make it" - which would allow everyone to save face. I've had one one conversation with them about it when I was back...

Agree with all the above regarding South East Asia. Apart from a flight in and out, don't book anything in between.

How do you tell someone that you can't attend their wedding? I would love to go, but I can't justify a £1000 flight back to Glasgow for a long weekend...

Stickied The Last Film You Saw Thread (& Discussion)

Mad Max: Fury Road. Suprised there's not more people talking about this. It's one of the best films I've seen in a while. I loved the concept of the film being almost a single chase scene. I almost felt quite anxious whenever the characters stopped for any reason. My adrenaline gland was almost...

    The Holidays Thread

I honestly don't think you'll be missing much. I stayed at a friends in New York State for 4th July a few years back and it was really just a BBQ with some fire works in the evening. Enjoyable, but not must do. New Years in NYC will be far better.

    Trident

Proving a nuclear deterrent works is a bit like trying to prove the death penalty works. Without some divine God like machine that can enter into the minds of would be megalomaniac world leaders we can't tell how it factors into their decision making. Im inclined to think it did work, based on...

My first footballing crush? Ian Walker probably.

    The hate for Gerrard.

What I do think when I look at Gerrard: Anger? Fear? Disapproval? Anxiety? I've not really considered it before to be honest.

    General Election 2015

Smaller parties can - and do - have plenty of influence without being part of a coalition. Would the Tories have signed up for an EU referendum without pressure from UKIP? Would mainstream parties have adopted green policies if it wasn't for the Green Party...? I think that's a preferable...

    General Election 2015

Really? With coalitions you don’t get the policies you voted for, as invariably all the parties involved have to compromise, water it down or worse. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

    General Election 2015

Isn't this a little bit of a red herring, seeing as the SNP had candidates in only Scottish seats, while UKIP had - and I'm guessing here - candidates in almost all seats throughout the UK? We're not really comparing apples with apples here?
  17. nousername

If you lived in Scotland would you vote for the SNP?

^ Agreed. It's fairly logical that people can be pro-union, yet reach the conclusion that the SNP are a group of competent politicians, that are capable of looking out for their constituents and for the needs of Scotland. A point obviously lost on Russia...
