    National League - 26/12/2018 Fixtures

Becoming fan owned is the way to go for clubs with a decent fan base, like Chesterfield. It helps you to strip out a huge amount of cost from the club. At the moment you will be making huge losses because the club is being run in a very inefficient way. This is completely unsustainable but there...

    Promotion thread!

If Tranmere don't win the league it will be the equivalent of Ronnie Rosenthal missing that open goal. It really would be an epic screw-up.

    Daggers problems (potential new investors)

I did wonder how Dagenham had that squad on those crowds. Hope it all works out for you.

    Promotion thread!

Tranmere have to be favourites, given their budget dwarfs all of the other teams in the play-off positions. They will have to really mess up not to win it.

716 Wrexham at Guiseley. A crowd of 1368 overall.

    National League Budgets

I can’t believe the number of teams with budgets of, apparently, £1m+ that are doing so badly.

    Plummeting Attendances

Sadly not, these days. Because the Kop is closed/condemned, we only have three sides and our capacity is now 10,500 odd. This has been reduced further because the lower tier of on of our stands currently has no catering facilities so can't be opened (I think the club would remedy this pretty...

    Plummeting Attendances

Ultimately the only thing that really attracts crowds is success on the pitch. Gimmicks like entertainment, special ticket prices etc. will only have a short-term impact. There were 8,471 fans at Wrexham v Tranmere in the National League on Saturday. The game sold out and if there’d been more...

    Chester next to go?

Wrexham AFC are 100% owned by the Wrexham Supporters Trust (WST), which is an Industrial and Provident Society (details below). I think Chester have a very similar structure. We have two separate boards - the WST board are elected and they in turn nominate a separate board to run the football...

    Chester next to go?

I'm interested in how you do it, as I can't work out how that adds up. Say you make £10 from each paying supporter. That equals income of £230,000 from league crowds over a season. Even if you make the same again from off field activities, such as renting out your pitch, it's hard to see how...

Match Day Saint Yates day (Jan 27th) National League fixtures.

I'm surprised at that. North Wales Police in their Robocop gear can be unwelcoming for large away contingents, that is true, but those games are quite few and far between. I rarely see any trouble at Wrexham games and home and away fans typically mingle well.

If there is one thing Wrexham is not short of it's pubs! I'm sure you'll be able to find somewhere.

    National League 2017-18

From what I understand they increased their playing budget by £100,000 this season, and based their higher budget on attracting higher crowds. They also offered players longer contracts, and contracts that triggered an automatic renewal after 30 appearances. Essentially, they gambled, which a...

    National League 2017-18

It looks like Chester have been completely mismanaged. It seems almost criminal. At the very least it is inept. The fan owned model works, but only if it is done properly. The overriding aim of those running a fan owned club should be ensuring that the club continues to exist in perpetuity...

    National League 2017-18

The debts won’t be fully written off. The Inland Revenue for example typically require full repayment. However, a certain percentage of the debts can be written off if other creditors accept partial repayment of what they are owed. I think when we went into admin in 2004 we ended up paying...

Even if we don’t sell another ticket, that’ll already be the biggest attendance in the whole league so far this season. Excellent stuff and all extra money in the budget! Hopefully the attendance will end up being well north of 8,000.

    National League 2017-18

Ultimately going into administration will be the best thing for Hartlepool. It will give the fans the chance to buy the club.

    National League Fixtures - 20/1/2018

I guess they are counting on the rules eventually changing. But if they don't, if I was a fan of their I'd want the plastic pitch ripped up ASAP. What's the point of competing in a league from which you can never be promoted?

I'm not sure why we are not able to open the lower tier in the stand Tranmere will be in. It's a real shame. We spent quite a bit of money on it in the last two years to allow it to be used again (it had been out of use for a number of years with no safety certificate from when we played...
